Vienna Glass Co

We were in need of having a number of screens repaired, and remembered that Vienna Glass (when they were in Vienna) was one of the few companies offering this service. After checking their website, and location (now in Manassas) and hours, I gathered together ten screens and two screen doors to take to their shop. When I arrived, Marie greeted me warmly, measured each screen, and detailed needed parts; the repairs would typically be completed within three days. On the morning of the third day (3/20/20), she called to say they were ready for pickup. Thank you, Vienna Glass, especially Marie, Diane, and Bolton (who performed the actual screen repair) for making this project a big success.

Ken Williams quoted me a fair price, and Angel and Warren did an excellent installation, from precise measurements to immaculate cleanup and everything in between. All were friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable and timely throughout the entire process, answering all questions and providing helpful suggestions regarding product selection and recommendations for care. It went great.  The provider walked us through all the options of choosing a new shower door that they had fabricated.  He warned me about the possibility of the old tiles not being in good enough shape to support the new door.  When they came to remove the old door, they found the old tiles that were hidden by the old door frame to be in terrible condition.  They were extremely patient about waiting for me to find another contractor (through Angie's list, of course) to replace the tiles.  Once that was completed, they came back right away to install the new door.  It is gorgeous.  The shower stall is very simple, but the new door really opens it up and looks very elegant.  I couldn't be more pleased.

The glass is still there. They did a good job.

The process was as seamless as I had hoped.  Nathan was very helpful in getting appointments setup and working with us to select exactly what we wanted.  They sent someone out to measure, which was only complicated by the fact that one of the hinges had to be installed into the glass border tile, which ended up cracking.  This wasn't a major deal as it was a mosaic, but it would have been helpful to know prior to installation.
The glass turned out beautifully and it quickly became my favorite part of the shower.  Unfortunately, we were only able to enjoy it for a few months before we sold the home.
I would absolutely use Vienna Glass again, should the need arise.

I had a great experience. They did a great job. They were fabulous. The price was really reasonable. Other companies were telling me that they had to replace the entire window for a grand, and they were able to just replace the one piece of glass. They totally saved me a lot of money and like did not put me together. So, I was really happy about that.

Vienna Glass was very professional through out the entire process.  Nathan Williams was able to quickly schedule a crew to come out to measure the shower area.  I received a price quote the following morning.  Their price was very reasonable compared to another frameless shower glass installation with did a few years ago.  It took about a week to wait for the glass to be made and then Nathan was able to schedule the installation.  Angelo and his crew came out in the morning and completed the entire installation by lunch time.  They were very nice and went over the option of having the door open both into the shower and out.  The installation looks fabulous.  It was also great to have an experience crew to do the job.  We will definitely do business with them again.

We had a large break in a kitchen bay window. Ken was very prompt in getting someone out to measure. The special order took less than 2 weeks and they installed the morning after I got the call that the glass was in. Couldn't have gone better. We have also used them in the past for floor to ceiling mirrors in our studio and they also did an excellent job with that.

Both were first-class jobs.

Sales person who took measurements was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional.  He came out the same-day and gave us excellent service.  Installers were also excellent and took the time to do a thorough job, including cleaning the glass at the end.  Great job!

Their customer rep,Ken, did an excellent job returning my phone calls and keeping me updated on the status of my order. His installers showed up exactly on-time and did an excellent job installing the new window. They cleaned up completely after they were done. Throughout the entire process, Vienna Glass personnel, were polite and professional. Their quote was accurate as was the expected time it would take to order and install the window. I was impressed with their work.

Came to measure, immediately got a quote. Went with the quote so ordered doors. Told two weeks - received and installed in about 10 days. VERY HAPPY!!!!

Everything from the measuring to the installing was done by a very professional 2-man crew. The frames were removed and taken out to their vehicle and the new panes put into the frames and then brought into the house and installed. They cleaned the glass and it looked perfect when they were finished.

From the minute I called, I was impressed with their knowledge and how quickly they scheduled my job. They came and measured and then came back and installed my beautiful shower. The men were very courteous and clean. The beautiful shower makes my bathroom a real showplace. We are very pleased with the level of professionalism in this company and their desire to make everything perfect!

I will caveat my comments by noting that the lack of professionalism Vienna Glass displayed was with my property manager, not with me. But since my property manager represents me, I view their lack of professionalism personally. I do wonder if I would have had the same experience if I had been contacting Vienna Glass directly because Mr. Williams was professional towards me when I initially placed the order.

I used Vienna Glass to install an enclosure for my shower in my master bathroom. This job was completed after I had PCS'd and my property manager was working to ensure the job was done correctly. My property manager advised me six months after the job was completed that the caulking appeared to be pulling up. Instead of agreeing to look at the problem, Mr. Williams assured my property manager that there could not be anything wrong with the materials his company used. He agreed to send someone out to look at the problem, but advised that I would be charged for the service call. If the service call occurred 5 yrs after the installation, I normally would understand being charged for a service call. But this was 6 months after the installation.

Vienna Glass sent 3 people out to look at the problem. They took 3 photos and wrote me an invoice which noted their product wasn't faulty or needed to be replaced, but the grout in the tiles was the issue. While I was disappointed the price did not include framing, the photo quality was excellent and a quick trip to Michaels later, my shower door photographs look great on my living room wall. They conducted no work and charged me for 2 hours of labor ($65 per hour for each of the three individuals, $390 total). My property manager contacted them to discuss the ridiculous charges for no work and Mr. Williams "agreed" to reduce the charge by 50%. (Again, for doing no work.) (Perhaps this is why Dulles Glass and Mirror is more expensive? I decided with Vienna Glass because they quoted me a price that was $1000 cheaper than Dulles. I guess their service calls are like airline pricing to make up the difference.)

I am disappointed with the lack of professionalism Vienna Glass displayed in this matter with my property manager because this should not have been an issue since the product was installed within a year of the request for repair. If the product had been faulty and a door fell on someone, then Vienna Glass would have been liable for any injuries. Fortunately, this did not happen and the issue appeared to be misdiagnosed. I plan on remodeling my other two bathrooms and will not use Vienna Glass again because of this experience. I have also recommended to my contractor that he should not recommend Vienna Glass for future jobs.

UPDATE (as of 13 August):

I did have a phone conversation with Mr. Williams after he saw my review and spent 30 minutes blaming my property manager for their misdiagnosis and their requirement to communicate via email (for their clients). He claimed to have a passion for his family's company, but he came across as unprofessional and whiney when blaming my property manager.

Further, while Mr. Williams "agreed" to reduce the charge by 50%, Vienna Glass has still not refunded the charge to my property manager. I am still not inclined to change my opinion on Vienna Glass.

Mr. Williams never refunded the charge to my property manager. I stand by my review of Vienna Glass.

The glass in these 25-year old windows had become discolored because of the failure of the seals between the two panes of glass. The replacement of these panels was accomplished very promptly, professionally and with excellence in every regard. The Vienna Glass solution of replacing the glass made it unnecessary to replace the entire window units. It had not occurred to me that the panels could be replaced, so I was delighted that the entire replacement project for 7 windows cost about the amount that one or two entire window replacments would have cost.

Worked with Nathan who assisted with creating a work order for a glass to for a large patio table. Did a great job and the price was very reasonable. I have to say that they have a very friendly office crew to work with. I would use them again and recommend them as well.

Nathan was wonderful -- knowledgeable and thorough. He met with us to go over options and make recommendations. The turnaround was quick, and the installation went smoothly. We were thrilled with the results. We chose a low-iron glass door, which Nathan didn't originally recommend because of the extra cost. But he was able to locate a supplier of low-iron glass for $500 less and we chose to go with it. Our tile is especially pretty travertine-line porcelain and we wanted to see it clearly through the door. It was worth it! We couldn't have been more pleased with the entire process -- professional and expertly executed. Nathan's fantastic, and we'll use the company again.

From start to finish I couldn't ask for better service. The estimator arrived when promised. The owner contacted me with a price quote within three days and I gave him the go-ahead. The installers arrived right at the time promised and did a great job. The installation is great, the clean up was done professionally. The installers were very polite and a pleasure to have do the job. This company will get any further glass work I require.

Great experience. When we called, we were given an estimate over the phone, which was significantly lower than another company had given us. The next day, someone came out to give us an on-site estimate and to measure the windows. This estimate was slightly less than the phone estimate. The next day, they called with a final cost, which was still lower. They said the glass had to be ordered and could be expected to arrive in about 10 days, but it actually took about 20 days. We scheduled a time for the work to be done. We received a phone call earlier in the day saying they had a cancellation and could come earlier, if it was convenient for us. The two workers then showed up to do the work. There were polite and very professional. The work was completed quickly, and they did a great job. Although someone else had warned us of a possibility of breaking the window frames (which were 30 years old), no problems were encountered.

I had a small full bath that had just been remodeled by a company that was very unprofessional so I really needed some extra TLC. I got this from Vienna Glass. From the moment I entered into their office on Mill St. in Vienna I got a warm welcome from the lady at the front, Gail. Mike Redinger, the manager, introduced himself and answered all my questions. He was able to give me some rough estimates right there, but we needed to schedule to have the area measured. That went well and I received a quote in record time. Everything went so smoothly I barely remember. The installers showed up on time, were very professional and the installation was done very well--they definitely know what they are doing. It looks outstanding! They were a pleasure to work with and I would definitely use them again.

After a devastating house fire, I salvaged my damaged coffee table which originally had four beveled smoked glass plates. Only one glass plate survived intact. My remodeling contractor suggested Vienna Glass as the best source to replace all four glass plates. I took the remaining glass to the store, they measured and matched the color. In a week I had perfect replacements.
