Southside Animal Hospital

They're great! Very compassionate, clean and knowledgeable. We had to put out kitty cat down this past January and they were so kind and compassionate and understanding. I would highly recommend them to others.

We called the Southside Animal hospital in Manassas because we have a lot of dogs and cats being adopted into their Community.  The sole purpose is to be able to send them medical, adoption and related information.  They refused stating that we should use a fax, which we have not done in over 10 years because they are so bad for the environment

We took him in on the 4th, and I talked to the vet every day for the first week, than once a week since then. It's an awesome vet service - Dr. David Powers is great to work with.

Went very well as always, doctor Powers is a great vet and the a staff is always very nice. Highly recommended.

My cat was dying and his quality of life was not good. I took him to Southside to be euthanized. The staff was courteous and supportive. They explained the process and let me and my daughter stay with my cat during the procedure. They also told us we could stay as long as we wanted and needed afterward. They didn't rush us out and were sympathetic.

Everything went very well as usual. Dr. powers is an excellent Vet. He always call after surgery to let you know how everything went.

The service performed went very well and better than I expected.

Dr. Powers perfomed the surgery on the cat's toe the following week and within 2 days the cat was fine and jumping around.
Dr. Powers has been our Vet for over 20 years now, he is a caring and dedicated professional. He always takes the time to call personally to go over surgery, medications and answer questions.
I know that when I take my pets to Southside Animal Hospital they are getting the very best.

Our kitten stopped eating and became listless. Dr. Powers did an x-ray and found obstruction in her intestine (she had swallowed an elastic hair tie). Warning us that the poor baby was pretty far gone, he performed surgery to remove the obstruction. He ended up removing about 12 inches of intestine and said that it had degraded to the point that it would have ruptured if we had waited one more day. Dr. Powers came in early to perform the surgery and kept us informed throughout the whole process. He even gave us his home phone number in case we needed him on his day off.
We have been taking our cats to Southside Animal Hospital for about 17 years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. It's a small clinic (2 vets), but very warm and caring. Over the years, we have had to have 2 cats euthanized, and they couldn't have been more compassionate and comforting. They even sent us sympathy cards afterwards. If you live near Manassas, I highly recommend them.

I used them for all three of my cats. Overall, I rate them highly. I would use them again in the future.

They did an excellent job, as always. They are so good with my dog and always take good care of her. The doctor followed up with me by phone on multiple occasions and advised when it was necessary for me to bring her in for further treatment.

The staff is always very helpful when I come in too. I had to bring my 6 month old baby with me to the many visits, and they always helped me with managing my anxious dog and the baby. They would help me get unloaded from the car, in to the exam room, and back to the car again with no hassle. It's a pleasure to work with everyone there.

It is a small practice and they take their time with you and your pet. They are fair and they don't recommend treatment or services that aren't necessarily needed. They answer all your questions.

Southside Animal Hospital has been helping me keep my dog happy and healthy to a fairly advanced age. I trust them completely.
You have to take the time to build a relationship of mutual trust with your vet, just like any relationship, and if you give Southside a chance, you will not be disappointed. The vets there have the kind of wisdom that comes from experience. It really is priceless. Of course, it seems expensive, but I expect they are asking a fair price and do their best to keep the cost down. I never feel rushed and my questions are always answered. I wish my own doctor gave me the same courtesy.

I have three dogs. I used to have four. One of them, an African Basenji, was 15 years old and started coughing. Once started, she didn't stop. She had a collapsed trachea. The Vet was extremely professional, and answered all questions while handling our dog Saffron with genuine care. She prescribed medicine for Saffron, but unfortunately, Saffron passed away before anything could be done. The Vet had warned us that this might happen, and had given us options for care. Personally, I think this vet is amazing. She has an affinity towards animals, and also is able to talk to their humans.

Dr. Powers has been our Vet for 20 years. Over the years Dr. Powers has always been right in is diagnosis and has gone above and beyond our expectations when our old dog was sick. Dr. Powers is not only an excellent Vet but he is also a good decent person who really cares about the animals. He is the only one I trust when it comes to my pets and I highly recommend him.

The experience was fine. They did what I asked them to do. They treated him well and everything went fine, as expected. The vet I dealt with was very good. I liked her a lot. She took the time to explain what she was doing and why. The staff was very good but there was kind of a wait. I had to wait a little bit longer to pay the bill and check out. They were kind of backed up. They were courteous and efficient when they got to me. There were no problems; there was just a slight wait.

On a Friday in February 2010, my dog became very sick with a swollen face, bumps all over, fever, and lethargy. Southside was able to see us as soon as we could get there and after a thorough examination provided treatment. On the following Monday, my dog was not much better so we returned to the vet for further tests and examination which began my dogs improvement. Dr. Morrow and the staff are always very thorough and gentle with my dog and they always take as much time as necessary to discuss treatment with me. My dog is better now. We had to make a few visits to the vet for follow up exams and Dr. Morrow talked with me on the phone (either she called me or I called her) to check on my dogs condition and progress. Dr. Morrow even contacted a specialist for assistance in treatment but since the specialist was not able to see us until May, Dr. Morrow continued contact with the specialist for advice and continued contact with me for treatment. We were in regular contact from February until May, and after the appointment with the specialist, Dr. Morrow called me to follow up and make sure everything was ok. I highly recommend Southside Animal Hospital to anyone.
