This project was done many years ago, but Kratzer Brothers did a wonderful job. Even after all these years the porch and patio are in great condition. This is proof of the quality of work they perform. I still get compliments and people try to copy the design for their own porch.

We collaborated together and the final product is outstanding. They helped me design the room and put in a beautiful stained wood ceiling and porcelain tile floor. They handled the insulation, electrical work, and drywall. They put in double hung windows along one wall, too.They reconfigured the trusses as well. It was innovative and beautifully done. They even came out with some paint schemes.

Rick and Dan completed an extensive renovation at our property. We purchased the home knowing we had to make improvements in order to even move in, so we were at the mercy of a quality contractor. We were able to scope the work at a budget level that was comfortable for us, and the Kratzers were able to manage against that budget very, very well. The finished product is stunning. Our kitchen is modern and chic while maintaining the charm and and quot;period appropriatenessand quot; for our home. Rick's background as an architect helped us see things that we didn't see when we were designing the flow, and these design elements have literally enabled us to use all of our kitchen efficiently with ample storage space, which is important in a smaller home. They were also able to make aesthetic recommendations that improved the look without adding cost. Few contractors will go out of their way like that.







We had similar success in our bathroom. It has a and quot;throw-backand quot; style with modern finishes, and the Kratzers were able to fish out additional space for bathroom accessories. This step was critical in a bathroom lacking any closet space. Without their recommendation, we would be severely challenged to store all of our stuff without adding cheap shelving or stuffing things into a linen closet.







The Kratzers did a significant amount of additional projects, from cleaning the roof and basement ceiling, replacing our home's entire existing plumbing stack, to replacing the electrical outlets (including converting our home from a decades outdated fuse box to a circuit breaker), to refinishing the floors and making major adjustments to the HVAC. Everything was handled with the proper amount of thought and detail. Our home is now a very healthy and happy (and beautiful) home that we're proud of.







In short, the Kratzers are highly recommended. They will do your job right, do it on-budget, and make sure you are not leaving any stones unturned. Enjoy!

Rick and Dan Kratzer were recommended to my husband and me by our [Angie's List] decorator. All work is now completed, and the results are outstanding. I could not be more pleased, not only with the finished work but also with the work quality and customer care provided by Rick and Dan. I first met with Rick in late May [he arrived on time at the house as promised] to discuss what needed to be done; from the beginning I emphasized that we need to stay within budget and schedule, and Rick and Dan were sensitive to our needs. I met with Rick again at his Manassas office [on a Saturday to fit my schedule] to go over building and materials options. He was attentive and patient with me and my many questions, offering recommendations and cost options. He then followed up quickly with a written estimate and a proposed work and payment schedule. We signed the contract in June. After permits were obtained, Rick and Dan began work immediately and updated me frequently during the entire project. On two other occasions, Rick accompanied me to select cabinetry and granite for the hall bath. I also asked for some changes [to change doors and add new closet organizer] after the work began, and Rick and Dan were amenable to accommodating. Dan even came back to trim the newly installed doors after new flooring was installed by another contractor who would not trim to fit. My husband and I have had major remodeling done in the past, so we expected problems and delays, e.g. the contractor not showing up as promised, some misunderstandings, work not done exactly as promised, use of subpar materials, and so on. None of that happened with Rick and Dan, and we honestly cannot think of a single thing that they could have done better. They treated us like friends and family, with respect and honesty. Every step of the process, from our first meeting to the last finishing touch, was exceptional. In sum, Kratzer Bros. delivers quality workmanship and offers superb customer service. We are planning on a kitchen remodel next year and will definitely reach out to Rick and Dan for that project too - if we could, we recommend them for an A+ to Angie's List members.
