In all honesty, I never rave about contractors, I am a hardcore DIY and I can get really picky about the small details that most people won't notice, but these guys did such an amazing job, without rushing through, taking pride in everything they did, that nothing I can write will do them justice. It is almost unseen these days for contractors to invest so much time and effort to do the job right.
Excellent job. We were very pleased with the work and have recommended JW to other pool owners.
Jim responded quickly to our request for an estimate and the work was scheduled promptly. Workers showed up on time and were courteous, and very hardworking. Job was completed in about three days.
We will definitely use JW again for any future pool work.
The crew and skilled workers JW employs are very professional. These are full time employees--not day laborers picked up on corners. My understanding is that they are treated very well by the company, so there is longevity and continuity. The skilled stone work is first rate. They are pool professionals so they understand exactly what needs to be done. It is not the same as simply putting in a walkway or driveway. Clean-up was excellent, totally professional.
Jim Walsh is very responsive. At the end of the job we had an issue with the appearance of a couple of the flagstones. This was addressed and repaired immediately.
I would definitely recommend JW Contracting and would use them again in a flash. The only caveats are about the price and the contract provisions. It is possible that we overpaid for the job but I am not sure. On the other hand, we are very satisfied and were not looking for a bargain. We wanted quality work. With respect to the contract terms, they are very specific. Make absolutely certain that everything you want done is included specifically in the terms in advance. The contract terms concerning the scope of work will be strictly adhered to. Thus, for example, in the demolition work, the anchors for our winter pool cover were destroyed and discarded along with the concrete. As there was no specific provision for replacement of these in the contract, the replacement work will have to be done later by us at our additional expense. My fault for not anticipating this but something to be aware of.
In sum, JW does quality work, in a timely fashion and lives up to the promises they make. You can't ask for more.
