He is coming back next week to check my heating and air conditioning.  He was referred to me by the guy who did the painting of my house. He is wonderful and he is just a gentleman.  He is not cheap but you can’t get any electrical work done cheaply.  He is in line with what you would pay. A lot of people don’t want to do small jobs but Jerry Wheeler does such jobs. You would have to pay but he will take it.  Lot of people think they can’t charge you enough for it.  Jerry is not cheap by any means. Smoke detectors don’t last long and we have been in this house for 20 years and I should have known they would not last for 20 years. My smoke detector started buzzing and he came out and he told me the kind of smoke detector I could buy and he would install it.  Somebody else could have said let your husband do that but my husband and I were not comfortable doing that. There are some people who would say I can’t charge you enough to install smoke detectors and it is just not worth it to me but he didn’t do that.  There are a lot of times when you have work which is not enough for somebody to come by. He charges $100 an hour and he charged me that but there are people who say the same on the site but they won’t come out if the job is small.  If he says he is going to come out he would come out and charge you.  I couldn’t stand the smoke detectors beeping and so I called him. He came when he said he was going to come.  When I spoke to him he said I could go to the store and get a particular smoke detector.  I needed 3 even though only 1 was playing up.  He said don’t take the chance.  He said that if another gave trouble then again I would have to pay for him to come out.  I went to the store and asked them to give me a smoke detector and they did and when I asked him if it was okay he said it was fine.
