It's been my pleasure to work with Howard. I find his honest opinions and recommendations to be trustworthy and in my best interest.

The Freedom Tree crew arrived on day and time as appointed. Upon arriving, the crew double checked customer expectations per the contract. They were very careful to avoid damage to lawn, concrete driveway and curbing, fencing and other landscaping. The trees were pruned exactly as requested in contract and the premises were thoroughly cleaned of all debris and leaves. Will recommend Freedom Tree to all friends and acquaintances.

Unfortunately, they are not good anymore… We began using Freedom Trees about 20 years ago. At that time, they were fantastic. We used their service for the last time in January and found the interaction to be unprofessional. 08/09/2018 – Requested a tree inspection 09/25/2018 – Estimate received. No tree damage or removal recommended. 09/30/2018 – Authorized work 10/02/2018 – I’m informed that they are backed up due to excessive rain, and that they’d be in touch. 01/01/2019 – No scheduled appointment yet. I followed up. Eventually, work is performed while we were not home. Two of the trees were tied with a pink plastic ribbon (marking that typically denotes removal). However, we were not contacted to explain the reason. Note again that Howard did not recommend that any of the trees be removed during the original inspection. Also, the invoice did not explain why the trees were marked. I contact them asking for clarification and was told to send pictures. I sent pictures and weeks went by with no response. 03/17/2019 – I follow up and was told that Howard no longer remembers the trees. I’m asked to send pictures AGAIN. They lost our business…

Quick overview: I was blown away by Freedom Tree and give them my very highest recommendation. Context: My wife and I needed several large trees removed, a few more trees trimmed, and a giant tree thinned. The job took two crews working here from 9:00-4:30. Experience: Since this was a large job, I went to Checkbook.org and AngiesList.com, created a list of highly-rated companies with a good track record and asked for three bids. Freedom Tree was one of the highest-rated companies and had the lowest bid. Here are some specifics about my experience: * Estimate: Howard came to look at our property to give us an estimate. He was on time, incredibly knowledgeable, and I especially liked that he never said, "You need to..." He always gave options with pros/cons of every choice. The whole thing felt like a collaboration. Along the way, I learned so much about trees and things I should be aware of moving forward. Freedom Tree e-mailed me their estimate, the same day, that looks like it came off of a spreadsheet - very easy to understand with options clearly outlined (The other two estimates were hand-written and difficult to decipher). Their office person, Melissa, was always easy to reach and highly professional. * Scheduling: I work at home and am frequently on client calls with some weeks being especially busy. After expressing this to Freedom Tree, they were highly accommodating to fit my schedule. * Work Day: Freedom Tree showed up at 9:00 as they said, and did a phenomenal job. I think of the work done at our house in two categories - taking trees down, and trimming/thinning. The result of taking down the tree is the same no matter who does it (assuming they do it properly and don't damage anything in the process - which is not a given in this industry). But trimming, and especially thinning trees is part biology and dendrology (the study of trees), part physics, and part aesthetics. We have a massive tree in our front yard that started hanging too low, was overhanging the roof, was a little too dense (potential danger in high winds), and had a lot of dead branches. Freedom Tree was brilliant and what we ended up with was stunning and will hold us for many years to come. I especially appreciate that they wanted my input as to how far to go. Their workers were all friendly and clearly competent. They really like working for Freedom Tree too - it didn't seem like just another gig to them. Howard told me that he pays medical benefits and takes good care of them - and it showed. Their equipment seemed top notch - how they used their bucket truck in thinning our big tree was especially impressive. One thing stood out - I asked if they could save some of the dead branches from the big tree so I could use them for firewood (those 1-2 inch branches are great in starting a fire in the fireplace). Not only did they save them, but they cut them up in firewood sizes for us. Totally not expected or anticipated - but it showed an attitude of people who are really customer-focused. During the work, the yard was a mess as you would expect. There were a lot of leaves, branch fragments, wood chips from the chain saw, etc. But at the end, they took out blowers and cleaned up well. The property looked better than when they got there. Other than the actual tree work, there was no evidence that they were there. I typically don't write reviews, and when I do, they are usually not this long - but Freedom Tree did such an exceptional job that I felt that such stellar work deserved a proper write-up.

Johnny came out within a day of our asking for the free estimate, which was provided on the spot. It took a little longer than anticipated to get the crew to our home, but they responded to my email query within a couple of days and the work was scheduled for the next day. Very skilled for high climbing and dead branch removal with good safety precautions. Had willow and 3 other very tall trees pruned as requested.

Freeedom Tree Service removed two 40+ foot fully mature Bradford Pear trees from my property. They also cleaned up the mess a major limb breaking off caused after a recent windstorm. Their service is reasonable and they completed the job in about an hour the day after making contract. They asked for nothing up front and provided an email invoice at my request the day after work was complete. Highly recommended.

Workers were very professional and completed the job quickly. They also cleaned up the work area when they were done.

The crew(Izzy, Donta, and Pablo) was wonderful -- polite, professional and efficient. Totally art what they have done. Knowledgeable and nice. Had them done jobs for two years on different house now. Will hire again.

Great. They were on time and they got the wood in the right place in a somewhat difficult situation.

Very well. Took them a while to get to the job due to weather and other business but once they got here, they did a great job at a reasonable price. They know their trees and did an excellent and careful job.

Exactly as promised. Very professional. I plan to use them again.

They did a great job trimming the trees! The downside was in getting them to come out in a timely manner. Multiple phone calls had to be placed to Freedom. Believe it took over a month for when we sent back our approval to proceed with the work. They were always pleasant on the phone, but I'd work on getting back to customers a little sooner as we were oh so close to going with someone else.

perfect. Highly recommend. The may not be the cheapest, but they are reasonably priced. Most importantly, they know what they are doing! It was fun to watch them work. They are a well oiled machine.

It went well. There were a few postponements in scheduling the work but they were all due to the rainy weather.

Fantastic. Work was done as scheduled and couldn't be happier. Easy to work with, well priced, and tentative. Would highly recommend.

They did very nicely. They were very good. I can't remember what the price was. The quality was fine. They were on time. They did what I hired them to do. It's tree service, it's not rocket science. They came out and took care of the trees.

Their arborists came in, proposed the best set-up solutions to the problems, and they implemented them.

They came to look at the tree and gave me a quote very quickly. The quote seemed very reasonable. I signed and sent back the contract that day then waited approximately 3 weeks for someone to call me back for an appointment. This was my only quibble with their service. Once I had the appointment the crew showed up on time and did an excellent job.

The crew arrived and went right to work. Everyone appeared to know what they were doing. The foreman also pitched in, and they did a great job pruning, were very accommodating and did a good job of cleaning up. I have used Freedom previously, will definitely use them again, and highly recommend them.

Everything went extremely well. Crew with a bucket truck showed up on schedule. They worked quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up and removed all debris. I will definitely use them again.

Freedom Tree Service was very quick with providing an estimate for the services we requested.  After signing the contract with them they were very understanding with working around our HOAs requirements.  They completed the work quickly and as described in the contract.  We will definitely use them again in the future.
