Alger Fence & Deck

The quality was outstanding.  There was in initial issue with the hired help in the first few weeks, but once Mr. Alger learned about it he corrected it immediately and everything went smooth from then on.

This is one of the most professional contracting companies I have ever encountered.  They spent a great deal of time covering all options and answering our questions.  Their prices are on par with other companies.   All work was completed as promised on time.  We are very picky and suspicious when dealing with contractors.  The professionals at Alger put us at ease and proved there are trustworthy contractors out there.  Very highly recommended!

Tony and his crew were outstanding.  Terry, met us as scheduled and was very thorough and informative.  Terry was very respectful of our time and kept us informed on the status of ordering, etc.  Work started as agreed and the crew finished the work in 1 day. However, they had overlooked one section needing to be repaired. I called Terry.  The very next day, the owner, Tony stopped by and completed the repair.  My wife and i were very impressed and intend to contract Alger Deck and Fence to design/build a screened in porch.  We would not hesitate to recommend Alger.

From estimate to completion, Tony and his team did an excellent job.  I contacted Tony on a Thursday and he came out that Saturday to survey the job and prepare the estimate.  After a few days, we got the estimate back and scheduled a time to pay the deposit and sign the contract.  Tony indicated it would take about 3 weeks to get on the schedule and start the work (this included time for them to get the plans reviewed and permit provided by the county).  The work started on time and proceeded over the course of a couple of weeks (slowed a bit due to an intervening holiday and some weather).   The work was of high quality and the finished product looks great, meeting and exceeding our expectations!  There was a minor issue with the county's final inspection (the fault of the county inspector in my opinion) that was quickly addressed and resolved by Tony and his team.  All in all, a great experience and a great deck!  I would highly recommend Tony and his team.

They are out there right now.  They have done a great job with it.  They were pretty prompt, the only thing that slowed them down was the weather. I like the quality of the work. I would wish for a little more communication.

Terry came out promptly as scheduled and showed us what our options were.  He measured our property and explained what the expected process would be.  We were having some landscaping done in the yard and wanted to ensure the fence was in prior to the arrival of the new plants - Terry coordinated with us to make sure that happened.
The materials and workers arrived right on schedule and did a quality job installing the fence.  There was an issue with gate placement because we have a french drain on our property and Terry ensured we were happy with the post placement and gate layout prior to having the installers finalize the layout.
They completed the entire job in one day and Terry gave us 24 hours to look it over and identify any areas we wanted addressed prior to our submitting the final payment. (There was nothing... but it was encouraging that they wanted to ensure we were satisfied.)

I called to schedule the appointment for an estimate.  He was late for the estimate so I called him and found out he forgot about the appointment.  The communication was lacking the entire project.  He would tell me they would be starting and they wouldn't show up.  There were rain days in there so I was being patient.  After awhile, i emailed him and told him about my disappointment with the project progression and the lack of communication and he still did not call or email me back.  He sent him men the next day.  The deck was built professionally but his lack of respect and professionalism will prevent me from using his company again or recommending him.

There are not enough great things I can say about this company!  From the walk through for the quote to receiving the bid to the start and the work and the finished product - WOW!  Absolutely fabulous!  I recommend Alger without reservation!

Tony was recommended to me by a friend but he got the job because he gave me a better idea of how to approach the deck whereas eveyone else just gave me a estimate for what I said I wanted versus questioning what I wanted.  Tony's questioning kept us from making a mistake.  He was very patient with my add-ons and the additional prices for the additional items were reasonable.  Tony and his crew came up with ways to solve some problems that problems with came up during the job (largely due to grading and other issues outside their control) with the back door step, the front entrance set of stairs and the lighting).  His crew were fairly meticulious, they cleaned up daily and were very dedicated to making sure that our deck turned out great, which it did.   We've received numerous compliments on it and greatly enjoy it.  It took a little longer to complete than we had anticiapted but it was largely due to weather and worth the wait.

Tony came out to our home and we talked abut our design ideas. He made some excellent suggestions that we went with too. He is so layed back and calm, no one could EVER feel an ounce of pressure from Tony Alger. He really knows how to design decks! This deck is built like Fort Knox! The attention to detail is unlike any I have ever seen! The rest of our home will fall down way before this deck will ever move! It is EXACTLY what we asked for and we both agree that it is SOOOOO much more beautiful then either of us expected. The workers that came were so professional, kind and just plan jolly!  We were concerned about having "construction workers" around our home as to what there manors would be like. These guys were great! Infact as soon as it finally warms up, we hope they will come back for a visit and share a glass of iced tea or some fresh made lemon aide on our new beautiful porch so they too can enjoy the fruits of their labor. We can only give Tony Alger, Alger Deck and Fence, the highest possible ratings available!!!  If you ever need a referral I hope you will ask us! Our porch is beautiful and sturdy and will be the place for many family gatherings for many many years to come!! I am sure the value of our home has gone up far more then the cost of this deck! It is worth every single penny!!  Great job Tony and crew!! You guys are AMAZING!

We were very pleased with this company's service.  The workers were fast and courteous and the quality of the installation is very, very good.    At the end of the job there were empty concrete bags left but when we contacted the owner he immediately removed them.

Mr. Alger, refered by neighbor came, took measurement and estimate and started work a week later, as agreed.

Alger was priced reasonably and was professional from start to finish, taking care of all the required details. Great job!

The work went well, but slow. We had one carpenter and one helper most days to do the work. The roof, soffit, and electrical were sub contracted out with excellent results. The work was completed in a timely manner and very professionally.
The glitch with the whole project was the EZ Breeze windows. The windows are aluminum frames with vinyl instead of glass making them lighter and easier to open and close. These windows are custom ordered to fit the opening available. It takes approximately three weeks to order, manufacture, and ship the windows. The windows were ordered from a distributor. There were problems with the distributor, differences in how the measurements should be made, and damage to the windows at the distributor. Most of this was outside of the Alger Fence and Deck's control and I do not fault them for the delays.
The enclosure is complete and we are very pleased with the results. You can see attention to detail and finishing to make a very appealing two/three season room.

Alger Fence and Deck was very prompt in responding to my initial inquiry for an estimate and provided one immediately after surveying my yard.  Their estimate was significantly lower then the other 2 estimates that we were given and they seemed the most professional so hiring them for the job was a no brainer.  The job was completed within a week of providing them the deposit and they did a wonderful job.  The fence looks great and we are very happy with the results.  The construction crew worked without interfering with our normal routine and left no trace what so ever of having been there.  They even provided me with extra boards for future replacements if necessary in the future.  Mr. Alger was a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend them if you need any Fence or Deck work.

I absolutely love everything about the large fence and gate Alger Fence built.  I highly recommend them.  Not only a great price, but also high quality work.  They take pride in what they deliver!  I recommended Alger to my sister and she was also extremely pleased!
