Mr. Goin responded immediately to our call. He and his son were so kind and professional. They were able to replace the part we needed and made sure our unit was working at full capacity before leaving our home. We are blessed to have such kind and friendly people to call on. They come with our highest recommendation!! Thank you again! A+ service all the way around!!

Showed up for work as promised. It was a very cold day with highs only in 20s and windy. They worked all day removing old systems etc., despite the weather. It was a total of about a 3 day installation and later another service crew came back and checked the system and put final finish on installation. Systems so far are working as expected. The air temp coming out of vents with just the heat pump providing heat is around 84 -86 degrees. With the aux heaters on, around 120 - 125 degrees. This is about what the old system was doing.

Good experience. Called late on Sunday night, did not expect to talk to someone. Rhonda answered phone. Set up appointment for next day. Tech came out, performed service in hot attic. Fixed problem temporarily. Expect to have them come back in on a cooler day to finish up the job.

The night before a winter storm was predicted, my heat pump went out. I called Goin, (after hours), and Rhonda told me to turn off the system and that they would be out in the morning. The staff were there first thing in the morning, and worked in sleet to replace the motor. Both my mother and I have used this company for our heating/air conditioning needs for years, and they have always been responsive, polite, and professional. You begin feeling cared for with the phone call. The staff goes above and beyond, and have offered to change filters for me after they fixed the original problem. They are my ONLY heating and air conditioning providers!!!

The AC unit was repaired by this company in March 2013, and
the cost at that time was about $1300.00. On July 9, 2013, we smelled
wires melting/burning and when we investigated, and discovered that it was
coming from the unit we immediately turned off the system. We called GOIN, and a rep came to check the
system around 11:30 that morning. He informed us that there was water
leaking onto the motor, which was what shorted out and caused the wires to
melt. He also informed us that he was not certain he had the correct
parts to repair the motor, and they may have to be ordered. He checked
his truck, and came back to say he had to go back to the shop for the parts,
and would return later that afternoon. He did not return until the
following day, and at that time he told us that it may cost up to $1500.00 to
repair the motor and replace the wiring. We were told that it may take
"a day or two" to locate the parts, and that someone would call
us.
There was no contact on Thursday morning, and when we called the office
we were told that they were coming out after lunch. We were wondering how
water got into the motor area, and we asked a friend, who repairs similar
systems, for some advice. He came and looked over the system, and
informed us that the coil GOIN had installed in March was the wrong size. Apparently
it was too small to handle the load capacity of the system, which led to the
leaking water and in turn shorted out the wiring.
The owner of GOIN came out to the house later that day with the rep who had been servicing
the system, and they informed us that they had to locate a new coil, and that
they would return on Friday. We did not inform them of what we had been
told, and were waiting to see if they would acknowledge that they had made a
mistake. By this time we had been without AC for 3 days.
We waited all day on Friday, and when we finally called tofind out if they were coming, we were told that the part was being sent from Roanoke, VA (one hour away) and would not be in until later that day or maybe as late as Monday morning. We
endured the weekend with no AC, waiting all morning on Monday for the
rep. When no one came by noon, we called the office and were told that
someone would get back to us. When no one called by 6 P.M., we again
called the office, only to be told that the part had come in that morning, but
they were very busy and that they would not be by until the next morning to
install it. By this time, we had been without AC for 6 days. We
informed the person in the office that this was unacceptable, that we were
aware that the problem in the system was due to the wrong size coil that GOIN
had installed in March, and if they insisted on waiting until Tuesday to
replace it, that we would be spending the night in a hotel and sending them the
bill. The woman in the office said someone would call us back and hung
up. We received a call within 30 minutes saying that someone would be out
to replace the part that evening.
They arrived around 9:00, and were there until about 10:30. The correct
size coil was installed, the motor was repaired, and the system was
restarted. We requested an itemized bill from the previous visit in
March, since all we received was an invoice with the total owed, and also one for
the recent visits. To date (September 7, 2013), we have not received
either one, and were not charged for any of the service calls made during the
period of July 9th to the 15th. We can
only surmise that GOIN was aware that the equipment was the wrong size and
accepted the loss of payment.
This is the second incident where we have been less than
pleased with the services provided by GOIN, the first being unprofessional
behavior on the part of one of their employees during a routine service call a
few years ago. Were it not for our
friend's information, we might not have been told what caused the malfunction,
and might possibly have been charged for the services and parts required to
repair the unit.

Response from GOIN HEATING & AIR COND
"It was brought to my attention, 1-15-14, that it was a message on Angie's List. If we had known it was one on there in September we would have responded in September. Unfortunately, we did not. [removed member name] has written a lot of garbage about my company, Goin Heating & Air Cond. Inc. The complaint was the coil that was installed in March 2013, was too small (the wrong size). Fact 1: The coil was the correct size, it in my office if needed for evidence or verification of BTU's (capacity). Fact 2: YOU have called this company for many many years, even after the accusation of an employee from Goin was rude to you. If that was true, then why did you call Goin back after that? The tech was asked about your accusation and denied it. The problem was, the coil was leaking water, no fault of Goin Heating & Air. Water was not following the fins to drain pan, it was dropping off mid way. We do not make the coils we order them from a reputable distributor. YOU said to replace motor and wires was $1500.00, (where did you get that outrageous figure from)? We did not have to replace the motor. We replaced several wires-NO charge to YOU! YOU asked if Goin would finance the 1st coil installed in March 2013, in which I agreed to do with No interest. YOU also said that the owner of Goin Heating & Air came to your home. That is another untruth. I Have not spoken to you or your husband at all, neither on the phone nor in person. BUT, if you were unhappy you should have called and spoke to the owner, (myself), George Goin Sr. Instead of writing numerous untrue accusations about the company and employees. Approximately 2 years ago a tech came to your home, for a no cooling call. He fixed your system, it was dark. While there he was going to his truck for a part, he stepped in a hole and sprained his ankle bad. We did not get on the phone, computer or Angie's List and put you all down in any way. We did our job and helped YOU out, when YOU needed us. We did replace said coil at no cost to YOU. Because, I felt it was the right thing to do! Several Hundred dollars Goin lost to keep you happy. Unfortunately, that isn't possible! YOU had air conditioning, it was 76 degrees in your home when they came at 9:15 pm to replace the coil, so therefore another untruth. It had been in the 90's and it was in the middle of July, so therefore 76 degrees isn't bad at all for a mobile home. YOU said the secretary hung up on you. YOU called here threatening, very demanding and very Irate! So, YOU were told "your coil will be put in tonight, even if it is 12 o'clock at night"! then the phone was hung up. We are not going to try and rationalize or argue with someone in that temperament! The job was Done at NO cost to YOU!!! That we feel is good business and a very professional way of handling the situation. We do not appreciate the untruths and slander against Goin Heating & Air Conditioning and it's employees. We are going to overlook the accusations and untruths, because we deal with facts and professionalism. However, we want NO further dealing with you of any kind in the future."

They had to order a part, but it came quickly and was fixed in a satisfactory time frame. They were very professional and nice. I thought they were a little pricey, but isn't everything nowadays?

Even though I knew the problem existed, I waited till the first hot day at the end of May to call for service. When I called at 8:30 am as a new customer, I was told they were busy but would get to us later in the day. They called and gave us the 1/2 hour warning at about 5:30 pm. The repairman arrived as promised, diagnosed the system, explained the low coolant condition, checked for leaks, charged the system and made sure everything was working before leaving. I could not ask more from a service experience. They sent us a bill at the end of May and I was still happy as I paid it. System is working fine.

It was very cheap considering he came all the way from Madison Heights and he was actually the owner. I was very impressed with him. He was very nice and didn't try to rip me off. He talked to me through with what he was going to do and everything. He was very good. He came out, if it wasn't the same day, it was the next day. He didn't charge me much and I think it would've been a couple of dollars at least. He was excellent. The heat pump is still running. If something goes wrong, I would definitely use him.

We came home on a cold day and our heatpump was not working, it was running but the outside fan was not moving. We called the Goins and even though it was afer 5 they took the 30 minutes on the phone and talked my husband through fixing the problem and we had heat again and no service call.
