Five Star Moving & Transportation

Earl was polite and did an estimate for our move. The movers arrived and two out if the three guys did great. There was one guy who complained, argued with me the entire time. I called Earl and I guess he talked to home cause he was even more moody and complaining that I called Earl. They broke my shelving unit and a box of bubble wrapped music boxes. They where careless with anything marked fragile or breakable. The price was 300 over the estimate which was a hard pill to swallow since we did not plan for them to over charge off.

I am not sure how to rate 5 start moving and storage. Some things went well and others did not. The gentleman who came to do the estimate wash punctual and polite and very organized. They were able to meet my scheduling needs, and they showed up on time. They were moving the contents of a 3600 square foot house and they showed up with a remarkably small truck and a crew of three. Two movers and one organizer on the truck. They did a great job of packing the truck, but they had to make two trips and the move took absolutely forever (over 11 hours). It was agonizing.
The gentleman who did the estimation underestimated by about half. At the end of the move I was presented with a bill that was almost double the original estimate. I figured this was going to happen when I saw how long the move was taking. If I had been on a tight budget and relying on the original estimate I would have been in trouble.
The movers worked very hard, there was just way more than could be handled by three persons.
Overall, I just was not that impressed and this company would not be my first choice in the future.

Five Star Moving provided excellent service on our move to the Lynchburg area. They took great care of everything, were very courteous and responsible, and the cost was quite reasonable. They did a great job moving all our mounds of stuff, including the piano and our sleep sofa-- where the cat was hiding! (Thankfully, she was well taken care of until we could pick her up several days later). I would highly recommend Five Star.
