While the installer was here, he asked if I wanted the commercial channels. I said, "Yes, of course," and he checked the satellite locations.  In order to get those channels, I'd have to cut down a beautiful large oak, or put a second dish way out in a field in front of my house. He said there was ANOTHER satellite that carried those channels with a clear line of sight, but I couldn't get that because I live in the wrong ZIP CODE!! He called DISH Network to see if we couldn't access that satellite, but was told that was not possible because of my billing zip code.  If I lived 400 yards further east, I'd be in the RIGHT zip code and would be able to access that satellite.  So for several years, I havent been able to watch football games or access any of the commercial shows I'd like to watch from satellite TV. All the other channels are fine, but I'm considering calling DIRECT TV to see if THEY can provide those channels, since my original 2-year contract with DISH is over.  I've also been told that VERIZON now serves my area, and I may be able to get a bundle of TV, internet, and Telephone via broad=band wireless.  The idea of not being able to access a particular satellite because you don't live in the right ZIP CODE, when you have a clear line of sight to that satellite is the stupidest policy I've ever encountered.

My experience with Dish Network has been good. When I've had a problem, they were professional and took care of my problem.

I haven’t had a problem with them yet, so I haven’t called anybody.  I wish I could pick what I want because I pay a lot and I don’t watch most of it, so to me that is quite annoying.  I am getting what I want but I am paying for a lot of things I don’t want, but that is just the way it is with Satellite TV.  They do what they say and I have hardly ever lost their signal, except for a storm once.  The installation was kind of weird but it was okay.
