Auto Body Work
$3,000

The accident was April 30th and we did not get the car back until Aug 31st.  Count - that is 4 months. When we didn't hear about the estimate my husband called the numbers on the business card that we were given at time of towing and the numbers were all disconnected.  There was no one at the shop when  he went down (which we found out later is not uncommon) and it was only by calling AAA and talking to them that we were able to get a cell number in order to reach anyone within the business. We were  told that they had cleaned the desk and had lost our phone number and couldn't contact us.  Over the course of the time they had our car, we told many different versions of the same story.  It was not until mid-June (four weeks after we were told the car would be done in a month) that we were told that when they unwrapped the hood, that they found out it was dented and that they were on the look out for another one. But just about everything else was completed. Just days prior to the derecho and power outage we were told that they had located a  hood and that it should be completed shortly. On July 12th, we were told that they had gotten the hood the day before and that the car should go on the framer and be done shortly.  It was not until August 13th, when I questioned as to whether the car was even on the premises, that we started to get any response. On August 16th, we were told once again that the hood would be put on, that the car would be aligned and that we could get it on either the 20th or 21st. That promise was repeated for the next week.  Since both my husband and  I work, we were told to let them know when we could come get the car and they would make arrangements to be there. The car was NOT availabe for pick up until Thursday the 30th and when we said that we would be there at 5:45, we were told that they wouldn't be there after 5:30, so we had to make arrangements to be there the next afternoon at their convenience.  No one was at the shop  upon our arrival, but when called she said that she was on the way and was only 5 minutes late. The car looked good and they did keep to their $3000 estimate, but the experience was horrible.  If we'd not had a vehicle that we were able to borrow for four months, we would have been in bad shape. The cell phone message states that the phone is checked every ten minutes, but there is no response.  We would go weeks with no returning phone call until the time that I questioned whether the car was still there.  It was only then that she began to return calls. This company does not demonstrate any of the professional qualities that one expects from an upstanding business.  I expect communication, honesty, and timely service, none of which were present in America's Choice Collision & Restoration.  It may be America's Choce, but it will no longer be mine.
