i needed a survey, drain field layout for pump type system, house site, and well placement. this survey included vacating 3 lines separating this property into 4 lots, in order to make it into 1 lot of .813 acre. Dr. Brooks always to a text or phone call within 24 hours. This is a one stop shop surveying, soil engineering/testing, well placement, and home placement. This saves time and resources, not going to separate firms for related services. Dr. Brooks surveys and plat layouts are crisp and display exceptional attention to detail. it is also worth stating that Dr. Brooks has cultivated numerous professional relationships with local government and utility companies which make the transition through this complicated process far easier. Dr. Brooks, Acres of Virginia will always be my first choice for surveying and other engineering services. Their professionalism saved me time money and made everything run smoothly. L.H.Paine.

This was an absolutely terrible experience. We hired Acres to do our septic and drain field mapping for new construction. They took weeks longer than quoted and then wanted to come out and do a second test once we questioned them on the timing. They told us that we would need a very expensive alternative system (which was false when we went with another company). After speaking with several septic installers to get a quote for said system, they advised us that most Septic Companies won’t even work off of Acres’ maps because they are so difficult to deal with. Dr. Brooks talked down as if he was doing us a favor, though technically he was hired and paid by us to do a job. Though we ended the job and did not get the completed map and report, we were not offered any money back or anything to rectify the situation. Our request to end all work on our property was met with unprofessional attitude and questioning. This experience was extremely frustrating, it costed us an unnecessary extra 2k and delayed our progress towards a building permit. 10/10 do not recommend.

We contracted Acres to perform work for our septic and paid them in November of 2020. After calling weekly for months now, we still have no work completed and the owner won't even dignify us with a response via email or call. We've requested a refund both by email and phone multiple times and they won't even call us back or respond to the emails. Don't trust this company with your hard-earned money, they are not responsive and don't seem to want to do work they were paid to do. We've hired a more professional contractor from Charlottesville to handle our work now due to this companies lack of effort both in the work itself and their ability to respond. Buyer beware.

We had an appointment the afternoon of June 19th, 2020, no show, no call; they didn't even give a time to top it all off. I call them to find out where they were, all we got were excuses and rescheduled for June 25th, 2020 around 930am. About an hour of waiting, I call to find out where they are, "they are coming" was all I received as confirmation. When they do show up, we were surprised with an estimate $400+ over what we were originally told, paid the $1,000 via check and they took my paper land survey map for my property with them; promising they'd return it by mail or in person because they needed copies of the map and I'd receive a receipt for the payment. They deposited the money, no receipt. I call to ask where was my map and receipt, they said they will send the email that day, send someone out to finish the soil testing, and return the map. I did not receive my receipt or information pertaining to the survey done, they haven't sent anyone back out, and they still have my map. Can't get a hold of them by phone or email. THREE WEEKS of this! I am about to drive to their office to finish this and then report them to every office I can think of. Don't waste your time with them.

Hired in January 2014.
Did not perform the job until July 2014.
Did not return phone calls.
Did not have any valid reason for not getting the job done in a timely fashion.
Secretary/phone answerer only knows that Mr. Brooks is not in the office, yet when septic contractor called, he WAS in the office.
ZERO communitation......
I would've pulled out in February, except they got a $750 deposit in January.
Result: A half-million dollar property sat for 7 months while Acres dragged their a****. Very costly to me.

Knowledgeable, professional and helpful.

It was very detailed; sewers marked, boundaries found. They even found that the survey of the neighbor's plot was wrong! And they said theirs is right, and they would go to court to testify. They provided seven copies. The whole process took about a month.

I called Acres of Virginia to come out and survey my property when I bought my house. The two gentlemen that arrived were very friendly and professional. They made sure I had plenty of markers along my boundary lines on 3.35 acres. I called on them again when I needed to have a soil sample taken and tested for a building permit. Acres of Virginia had the best prices around and everyone was great to work with.
