Needed to re finish all of my lower level wood floors (2200 plus sq. ft.)  plus stairs.  I left Keith in charge while I went for a 3 wk. extended vacation.  About 4 yrs. ago I had another company come in and refinish my floors and one would never know they were 'redone'!  Keith came in and gave me a quote and we decided to lighten the existing floors, put a harder more commercial 'matte' finish and I couldn't be more pleased.  He came in and tested a spot on my floor so that I could get a visual of how the floor would appear after completion.    Keith kept in touch via email and text while I was away and the work was being done during all the rains in October.  During this time I had a leak in one of my sky lights which could have posed a real problem but Keith was on it in no time.   
      Keith is a true professional and easy to work with.  I guess I could say that one "gets what they pay for" regarding my previous experience with another floor refinisher.   Oh, I must add that the dust residue created from sanding floors is next to nothing/nil when Keith does the job.............wow, I got home and was so surprised to find very little and next to NO DUST!  Maybe just a little dusting along window sills!  I am so pleased and really over the moon!  Thank you Keith,

He arrived on time everyday and worked efficiently during the whole project.  He took time to explain in detail what he was doing and why.  Initially we thought we could finish our oak flooring in a natural color, but ultimately chose to use a stain to darken the wood to our liking so that it would complement our existing decor, cabinets, etc. He took extra time to let us sample the colors we were interested in by applying a "swatch" of each on the floor and letting us see how the stain would look.  He uses a dustless system and cleans up after every work day.  Keith is very patient and particular in what he does. You get the sense early on that he takes pride in providing a good service.  We were extremely satisfied with how our floors looked when he was done. We hope to hire him again for another project in the future.

Keith arrived on time every day and even early on some days. He was very accommodating about various surprises that popped up (the subfloor that was used previously was not up to code and had to be replaced). He was very forthcoming about any additional costs that were needed due to unforeseen subfloor issues. He was flexible on time and made sure that quality work was done. The floors turned out beautifully.

Keith did an awesome job on our floors.  Even six months later, we are extremely happy with the quality of the job.  A couple of things to note:
a)  Keith uses a high quality dust collection system during the sanding process.  We were a bit skeptical about how well this would work.  However, at the end, there was very little cleaning that we had to do on our part.  Definitely a plus!
b)  Keith is punctual.  He is there when he says he will be there.  If he was going to be late, he called.
c)  The work that Keith did was meticulous and was of super quality.  He is very detail oriented.  I did not get the sense that he was cutting any corners.  The job looked awesome when complete.
d)  The water-based finish he used (BONA), was very family friendly.  We were able to stay in the house while this was going on (as compared to the oil based products that keep you out of the home for several days).
e)  So far, the BONA product has held up extremely well.  Being a wood worker, I was skeptical about how well a water based finish would hold up as compared to traditional oil based.  So far, no issues.
Keith is everything that you would ask for in a contractor.  His price was not the lowest, but the value of what we received definitely left us feeling more than satisfied.  He was friendly and honest.  We would definitely use Keith in the future for another project.

Keith is a true professional. I don't think I've ever been this pleased with someone doing work in my house before. Keith is not like alot of guys of that do home improvement; the ones who come in your house and smell like cigarettes or beer, or look like they are high on drugs. Keith is a trustworthy guy, the kind that you don't worry about seeing valuables in your house or being around your wife and kids if you aren't there. I can't say enough about his character or work.
We got several estimates from other providers before deciding on Keith. One was very cheap, but looked like he had just finished using drugs, one was knowledgeable but creepy and not someone I'd want around my kids, and the other guy was so-so. Keith's bid was the highest, but not by much, and having seen his work first hand I'd pay more just for the peace of mind of knowing that it will always be done right. I knew after meeting Keith that he would be the guy we'd pick because it was obvious that he was a safe choice to have in a house with my wife and kids and that he was a craftsmen, not just an installer.
Keith is always neat and clean, always on time and ready to go and works hard all day, every day. Within 5 minutes of seeing him work it becomes obvious that he takes great pride in his work and wants it to be done right. He is a throwback to craftsmen from an earlier time. He works incredibly hard each and every day. I was present off and on for several of the days as I had to work in my basement, and could here him working above me.
Keith cleaned up his dust and tools at the end of every day, leaving my house looking clean and neat even in the middle of a remodel. He never left so much as a cup or bag behind, which impressed me greatly.
During the middle of the job my wife wanted to know if he could alter and improve our hearth, which hadn't originally been in the contract. Keith looked at it and came up with an idea we liked and he redid the contract and made the change, and the hearth looks fantastic. He also suggested a walnut accent piece between the doorways to accentuate the pine in the rooms, which we love.
My wife and I love everything about the floors and hope to use Keith again in the next year or so. Everyone who sees the floors asks who did them and we tell them. You might find someone cheaper than Keith, but I doubt you will find someone better or more trustworthy than him. I wholeheartedly recommend him and will use him again in the future. I got a couple of estimates for this job, and Keith actually came in higher than the other.... but I felt more comfortable after talking with him so chose him to do the work. I was not disappointed. In every respect, we were pleased with our choice. Communication was excellent before, during, and after the job. The floors look beautiful. We'd had them done once before and had had a terrible experience with that outfit - just an awful job. The experience with Keith was the opposite. It cost more - but, as is often the case, you get what you pay for...

I can't recommend CFS strongly enough. From the initial contact here on Angie's List to the final cleanup, Keith was the consummate professional. This was our first foray into hardwood floors and we had a lot to learn; he answered all our questions and gave good advice relative to flooring selection. He was punctual, very accommodating working around us as we were of course living in the work area and moving furniture around just ahead of his work, . The quality of the work was outstanding and the cleanup afterword was great. My family had a construction business when I was growing up and I have been around more than a few contractors and its clear Keith is a master of his craft. I am completely confident recommending Custom Flooring Solutions knowing you will be completely satisfied with the experience.

Fabulous. Keith Goad was the complete professional and very easy to work with. He was punctual, worked non-stop and did a beautiful job. From the estimate to completion he communicated everything clearly to me and explained the process in detail. The floors are just beautiful and the house was completely transformed. Sanding and refinishing is a messy job but Mr Goad left everything neat, clean and dust free. He uses quality products . This refinishing job is meant to last.
I would use CFS for floor work any time and strongly recommend Mr Goad and his work to others.

We had begun dealing with another company. They were so irresponsible and they kept pushing the dates back. We cancelled with them and hired Custom Flooring Solutions. They finished the work on the day that they gave us. We were very happy that we cancelled the previous contract and began dealing with them. The owner is the same person who performed the work. He is very friendly and personable. He was able to take care for any of our concerns or doubts that we had.

The entire process was seamless, and went off without a hitch. CFS prepared a comprehensive price contract which disclosed any potential add-on costs that may occur during the repair of the damaged boards, and CFS sought my permission before proceeding with the required additional repairs. I am a very busy person, so it is important to me to select a company that utilizes email and text messaging. CFS did both of those things very effectively which reduced interruptions to my work day. CFS arrived at my house punctual every morning, and he informed me of what he would be doing that day. That is very important information to know, as I remained living in the house during the process. I found CFS to be very trustworthy, and I felt comfortable giving him a key to my house and leaving him to work unattended. CFS was focused only on my job during the days he was scheduled, which I liked. I was originally dreading the painful process of having the hardwood floors refinished and dealing with the cleanup afterwords. I was surprised at how simple and pain-free the entire process was. There was only a very LIMITED amount of dust in my house. I would say the dust was no more than you might experience by leaving your windows open on a summer day. CFS did a great job of cleanup at the end. I just can't say enough to adequately summarize how simple it is to do business with this company. I will definitely use them again! :)

They completed everything on the schedule they gave us. They arrived early and worked all day until completion. We were very pleased with their cleanliness each day at the completion in order to decrease the amount of dust from the work. When completed, Keith went over the floor with cleaner so that the floor was gorgeous when he left. This was a very pleasant surprise.
