I had my AC replaced by Nice Heating and Air Company. However, about six months after the installation, the AC stopped working. Despite scheduling a service appointment, they repeatedly canceled, but finally, after three days, they were able to come and make it work with some adjustments. During the adjustments, the technician mentioned that whoever installed the system didn't properly measure the old system before installation. I found this amusing because, in fact, Nice Heating and Air was the company that installed my system. Unfortunately, after a few days, the AC stopped working again, prompting me to schedule another service appointment. This time, they identified several issues, including zoning and vent problems, and attempted to sell me additional insurance and sensor products at a high cost. Although I wasn't pleased with the situation, I acquiesced and purchased some products to appease them. I ended up paying thousands for the service, even though my AC was only five months old. To my dismay, the AC malfunctioned yet again after just a week, necessitating another service appointment with Nice Heating and Air. This time, the technician performed extensive troubleshooting and ultimately had to cut the existing zoning system and make some adjustments to the motherboard by adding a blade between two wires. He assured me it would resolve the issue without any additional charges. Additionally, he recommended replacing the temperature control, citing its age. When I reminded him that Nice was supposed to install a new temperature control as part of the initial installation, he insisted it would cost extra. Overall, I was very disappointed with the service provided by Nice Heating and Air Company. I would strongly advise against using their services due to the recurring issues, unprofessional conduct, and attempts to upsell unnecessary products. I am still worried about my AC system every day, something I never experienced in the 20 years with my old system.

I've used Nice Home Svcs. for many years. While they are not the least expensive HVAC company in Northern Virginia, they provide excellent service and their systems are fairly priced. I have an annual maintenance contract with them, and the techs are incredibly thorough. So I've been able to extend the life of my HVAC systems. The annual contract includes a gas fireplace, and thus is a good deal.

Stay away from Nice. My experience with Nice was anything but nice. The owner, Craig, was eager for us to sign a contract. We talked with him for approximately 30 minutes, we sent our contract to the Manager, and we were told that if we committed to letting Nice work on replacing a boiler/heater in the next two days that we would receive a $500 discount. We did sign the contract and sent it back to the Manager. At no point during the initial evaluation or in our discussion with Craig were we told that we would have to pay 1/3 of the total cost (approximately $6,000). In a very detailed contract, there was no mention at all of paying a 1/3 deposit before the work was done. We assumed that payment would be due in full after all work was completed, as is usually the case in any reputable company. When we brought this glaring omission to the attention of the Owner and Manager, they were completely uncooperative and unwilling to work with us. The idea that this company wants to form a relationship with their customers (as mentioned on their web page) is quite disingenuous. I believe this company is untrustworthy. I would seriously consider avoiding this company. They are duplicitous and do not promote legitimate business practices. I may indeed report them to the Better Business Bureau for their quite shoddy and illegitimate practices. While they may not have broken the law, they certainly showed that this company is duplicitous and untrustworthy. In short, stay as far away from Nice as possible. There are many more appealing HVAC companies who are up front and legitimate.

After my spring tune-up, NICE has been working to see whether they could make changes in my system to reduce humidity. The owner, Craig, and the service manager, Mike, came out and did a full evaluation and made some changes in my system and how we use it. They gave me a lot of time and attention, and made useful recommendations. Also, there was follow up by one their technicians, Freddy, who has been at my house other times and who is excellent.

John, the service technician, was able to fixed the problem. It took two trips. On his first trip, he diagnosed that it was a bad gas valve. I asked a few questions, and I decided to replace the pilot assembly too. On his second trip, he installed the two parts. On each trip, he covered his feet and cleaned up The total price included the new gas valve and pilot assembly replacements, the return visit fee, and the annual club maintenance plan. In summary, Nice Home Services fixed my problem. I would definitely contact them again if I had any future fireplace problems.

The technician arrived within the time window. He covered his shoes and place his work cover down in front of the fireplace. He took photos and tuned up my fireplace, which included cleaning the glass. There was a small issue about a stain on the fireplace screen, but we resolved it at no additional cost. He explained and emailed me later about additional services that they offer. The fireplace looks great. This company does a good job, but they are pricey. My total cost included a 10% discount and a $25 coupon. In conclusion, they do very good work, but they are pricey.

This time I had John Sumlin who did a very good job, kept me informed, patient with my questions, and came across as very competent and easy to work with. He took his time and I had the sense that he was compete in his work. I've had a good experience in general with the firm, and they try very hard to provide good customer service. I have a service contract with them.

I needed to have a gas fireplace inspected for a home sale. It needed to be done within a certain timeline to be within the terms of the contract. I scheduled with Nice for a two hour window and they no showed on me. They apologized and rescheduled for the next day. The next day they told me they couldn't do it. Not only did they waste my time which I value, they put me in a bad spot with a home sale. There are plenty of companies out there that offer the same service that aren't so disrespectful. I would never call this company again.

Gave this company an “A” rating in 2017. Originally called in to check our fireplace, and although every employee we spoke to was constantly trying to up-sell, we purchased their annual maintenance agreement as a precautionary measure. Booked an appointment in February for a routine system check (free as part of the agreement), and ended up having to spend $1240. This after receiving multiple, annoying calls and emails almost daily for weeks reminding us “it’s a free tune-up!” No real concerns about the work/cost until less than 30 days later the furnace that covers the lower level of the house won’t turn on. We discover water on the floor around the unit, the “wet switch” we just purchased as part of the work in February for over $250 won’t reset, and also discover the related pipe the technician worked on wasn’t glued together and is hanging loose. Of course this happens on a weekend, so it costs $179 for a technician to come out “after normal hours,” because the maintenance agreement only provides free service calls M-F until 6pm. By the time he shows up (almost 2 hours after we called in the request) the sensor is dry, so can be manually reset, but since the pipe wasn’t installed properly, this will occur again. Bottom line: 1. The company manager REFUSED to speak to us on the phone about reducing the full service call fee for a problem that developed because their technician failed to complete his work properly, even after his own worker told him the issue was caused by their mistake. 2. While each technician who has come to our home has been fine, the deal is clearly for them to push sales...which is ok if your decision makers are willing to stand behind those sales and make the customer whole when the company doesn’t deliver. Not very Nice. Will find another vendor.
