I have been in business since 2006. I started in the chimney business in 2004 as part owner of A+ Chimney Sweep & Dryer Vent Services ,LLC in Dumfries VA. I am the only employee in my company. I use subcontractors for major projects. Virgina does not require for you to be certified as a chimney sweep. I am a certified chimney sweep through the Chimney Safety Institute Of America#7336. I have a class C contractors Lic#2705 I am a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild. I belong to the Springfield Chamber of Commerce and the South Lorton Chamber of Commerce. I am also a member of the Better Buisiness Bureau. I am Licensed,Insured and bonded. I offer free estimates for any chimney repairs. 10% discount for repairs only. We accept all major credit cards.

I called this guy for an estimate and he never called me back. I asked for a price on multiple dryer vent cleanings on a schedule to his liking. Never heard from him. If he was not interested a quick call to confirm would be the professional thing to do. I came to Angies List to find a better class of contractor because I have lots of business and get tired of the same old contractor run around. This guy does not deserve to be on this site.

cleaned chimney and I questioned loose cement inside firebox, which he stated would not need to be fixed. He cleaned chimney from top down and discovered cracks on top of chimney which he stated needed to sealed. I ap0proved the sealer, and he painted the sealer on. ( I was concerned that this was an adequate seal; however was given a warranty.) He worked alone, and was very efficient.

I called Mr. Barnes with a few days notice because we were moving with very short notice and I asked if he could show up early. He showed up on time and did a great job at a better price than the big chimney sweeping companies. We will definitely be using him again.

I was pleased with the service provided by A 1 Chimney Sweep. I had a couple rental properties that needed the chimneys cleaned right away. They came out quickly and did the work efficiently. I used them for the initial cleaning and will use them for routine maintenance as needed. They were reasonably priced as well.
