I've had no problems with the manager at Home Depot and I really like them.

If I need anything for my home I go there, and most people know about them. I would use them again in the future.

I ordered a garage door installed using the Home Depot Web site configuration for Clopay doors in August 2011. The installation was to be in Fries, VA.  The online receipt said I would be contacted within 1 to 5 days for them to do pre-installation measurement. Never happened, and in the end it turned out the door order was lost somewhere in their system. On 2/25 I again entered an order for the door. On March 5, having not heard from them, I contacted the company  (Clopay, who actually manufactures the door and arranges the scintillation throughout their distributors -the Home Depot web site refers there once an order is placed.) who admitted that the order was confused in their system.  Again, I was told the distributor/installation company (The Overhead Door franchisee for Roanoke, VA) would contact me within 5 days. On March 22 I called Clopay and asked for a progress report, since they were again failing to do as promised. I was told that they had contacted the distributor and that I would receive a call from them that afternoon. The following day they called and  told me that they would be out to measure the following monday. At that time the man, who turned out to own the company, complained that Clopay only gave them $15 for doing the measurement and so they waited for other things in the area. That monday they neither called nor showed up. I called the company and the woman who answered the phone said she would relay the message to the installation company owner.

I received a call from him apologizing for not showing up as promised, and assuring me that he would do so on either 4/2 or 4/3 and that I would receive a phone call the day before. Once again they have failed to do what they said they would do. 

I was actually given a control # and reservation number. I was told I would have an electrician in the area in two days; never happened. Called them back on the third day and still never heard anything and on the fifth business I called and they said, "They will be out on the 28th it would be resolved." I have never received a call back and they said that they would be here. Never showed or called. I was fed up and went with another company.
