I've been using this firm for years, and while Alicia ran it, she did excellent work. It now has passed to new owners, and the last time I used them my knives did not turn out nearly as sharp as when Alicia did them, and they dulled quickly afterwards. Has anyone else had experience with new owners??? Have they gotten better?

Went fine.  I've been taking my knives to Alicia for a few years now, and have always been satisfied with her work.  She is professional, completes work when promised, and is friendly and easy to work with.  She does sharpening at several area shopping malls, usually at Williams-Sonoma stores, and has her schedule of "sharpening events" on her website.  She even will sharpen your knives to work best for left-handed or right-handed users!  She charges $1 per blade-inch for most work.  You can leave knives up to one day ahead if necessary.
