Prouty did a great job on the chimney liners and ultimately the chimney cap repair. I rated them a C on responsiveness and professionalism specifically for an issue related to finishing the chimney cap in April when the weather conditions allowed for the repair. We financed the project over a six month period. I had requested that they provide pictures of the finished work including the chimney cap. Other companies we have used in the past provide before and after pictures. However, we were told that because they had already completed the chimney cap repair, they would not return to take pictures. It wasn't until we withheld the final payment that they agreed to return and provide pictures; only to find out that the work had not been completed. They were apologetic about the error in the paperwork, but I can't help thinking if we had not withheld the final payment, we would have been unaware that the repair had not been completed. I believe I would hire them again, but would have to make sure to verify the completed work.

Prouty's was amazing! I knew we had a problem with our chimney or wood stove, because of the horrible, random smell that would permeate my basement. The two men showed up and treated all of my concerns with compassion, were honest with their findings, and when they discovered a very bad backdraft due to a short chimney, offered to fix the problem by capping the pipe entry while they were here. So glad we did this, for the health and safety of my family!

In November of 2016, Mr. Prouty responded quickly to my request for a quote. I analyzed the top of the chimney and agreed that a concrete chimney cap needed to be poured to fix the poor job that the builder's mason ad done five years earlier. However he said it was too cold to do concrete work and that he would do it in the spring. He returned in the spring to review the condition of the top of the chimney and we scheduled a date of service. The crew that did the work was right on time, explained what they were doing, were neat and professional in their installation and the removal of the form once the concrete was cured. I've delayed writing a review until almost a year had passed to make sure that their work resolved the problem. I can safely say that the diagnosis was spot on and the new chimney cap has eliminated the leak. I will certainly use Prouty's again for all my chimney work.

Very satisfied so far with the job done by Prouty's Chimney Sweep. We replaced some wood that had been continually needing repainting and our chimney chase cover. The new one wraps over the replaced wood composite and looks fresh and clean. Thanks to Greg and his crew!

G. Prouty was prompt, courteous and professional. Work to the furnace chimney was quick, thorough and clean. Unfortunately we discovered the sealed fireplace is not wood burning but he did suggest alternatives.

Greg sent out two of his staff (Tyler and Kenny) to inspect our chimney and fireplace, and advise on replacing the worn-out fireplace doors. After a thorough inspection with pictures, they recommended some minor remediation (essentially rebuilding the cement crown at the top of the chimney, and recaulking the flashing); they also provided advice regarding replacement of the fireplace doors, and said they would install the new one on their final service visit. We were delighted with Prouty’s service from the first contact to the final service visit, and give them a five star rating; in addition, I have asked our neighborhood association to include Prouty’s on the listing of preferred service providers. The two young men sent by Prouty's were prompt, unbelievably polite, courteous, and knowledgable. In addition to being so pleasant, they did outstanding work -- the cost was great and very fair for the time and workmanship they put in to cleaning and inspecting the chimney and fireplace. I would use them again in a heartbeat and plan on recommending Prouty to neighbors and friends.

Had them sweep my chimney, the techs did a great job, kept the house and area clean. They also showed me pictures of the top of my chimney where I had some damage, they gave me recommendations for repairs. Well run professional company that I would recommend to anyone.

Kenny and Jason from Prouty's Chimney Sweep were great. They were punctual, quick, knowledgeable, honest and friendly. They did NOT make a mess in or around the property. Greg Prouty (the owner) worked with me on the pricing (I misunderstood the pricing initially and he worked it out in my favor). Prouty's was only my second opinion on my chimney chase being replaced but the initial phone call to Greg Prouty was so good that I didn't even bother to get a 3rd opinion. The pricing was way less expensive than the initial hire. I will definitely be using Prouty's from now on. I will also be referring them to friends. Customer Service was excellent.

Greg and his crew installed the new woodstove for me very quickly and they were very careful to keep the floors clean (which is a big deal for me). They were very courteous and I was pleased with their level of expertise and knowledge. Greg answered many questions that I had about how to operate the new stove, and I am extremely happy with the work they performed.

Had Prouty's out to inspect and clean our chimney (we had never used it before after buying our home). The guys did their inspection and advised us that it looked like the previous owners had recently done a cleaning so we didn't need another this time. I appreciated their honesty. They made some recommendations on repairs to our chimney cap (also took pictures of the problem that they shared with us), but also said it wasn't critical to fix right away. Would use the again.

I selected Greg Prouty's firm based on the reviews here.  I knew my chimney was deteriorating and I wanted to work with somebody who had a reputation for doing what's necessary, but not pressuring or "upselling".  When I met Greg's team and received their quote, I did not pursue other estimates after getting a quick reality check on Angie's List that the prices were "in line".  Perhaps I could have saved a few dollars by shopping around, perhaps not.  Key is, as other reviewers have indicated, that the team inspected the chimneys, indicated which ones should be swept and which ones didn't really need it yet, offered to install their chimney caps but leaving it entirely up to me whether to purchase and install on my own, and describing the work that they recommended to do on the chimneys.  I felt like I was in good hands.  The team was professional, responsible, courteous, and completed the work inside and out with minimal disruption.   I highly recommend Greg Prouty and his team.

Tyler and Kenny arrived as scheduled. They took good care to keep the area clean while performing the work using drop cloths and shoe covers. They quickly cleaned the chimney removing multiple dead squirrels and a bird. They next went to the roof and installed the cap and inspected chimney crown. They documented the crown's condition with photos and provided a free estimate to repair several cracks in the concrete. They inspected the entire fireplace condition and shared the results with me.
I am very satisfied with company and crew and would highly recommend them to anyone in the Loudoun County VA area.

overall went well.  Greg and his crew showed up as promised and didn't mind me watching them work and asking questions.  they also provided a $45 repair to fix one of my chimneys that two other providers wanted to install a $3000 fix for.  
The install of the pellet stove and flue liner went smoothly and pretty quickly.  

They showed up on time, gave an accurate estimate and completed the work within the day. We had another seldom-used fireplace and chimney I asked them to check, and they confirmed it required no service. They were very friendly and explained everything in good detail. I'm very happy with the work they did and would recommend them for any chimney cleaning or service needs.
