LOUDOUN CAT CARE

After moving to Loudoun County (and some bad experiences with other veterinarians here), we were searching high and low for a good veterinarian for our much-loved cats.  Loudoun Cat Care was recommended to us by another veterinarian because, she said "Dr. Wiechmann must have been a cat in a previous life!"  This tells you all you need to know -- she understands cats like nobody else.  I think she and her wonderful staff see their patients as their own cat friends, and talk about them with great interest and proper amusement.  She appreciates their individual personalities and remembers all the crazy things they do!

Beyond that, she is a great diagnostician, who seems to figure out exactly what is bothering a kitty very quickly.  We always learn so much during our visits -- she is full of good information and suggestions.

I never thought our cats could actually love a veterinarian, but I do think they enjoy their visits to Loudoun Cat Care.  They get lots of love and attention from all the staff, and end up feeling so much better.  I think they know -- despite the unwanted car ride -- that going there is going to be a good thing! 

I love Dr. Weichmann and Dr. Glaser.  We've taken our cats to them for years.  This visit was for two new kittens after our elderly cats had passed.  Both vets dealt with me and my grief over the years when we had to put our first two cats to sleep.  Highly recommend!

She is outstanding! She puts things in layman's terms and explains things to me in detail! When you leave you are confident of what you need to do. I feel so comfortable leaving them with their staff!  When I first went to Loudoun's Cat Care they gave me a tour of the facilities! It always so clean and the staff if wonderful! They also always follow up immediately with any test results or information that is needed.

I love this practice!  The staff is so friendly and nice.  They clearly like cats.  The quality of care is awesome.  The vet take the time to talk to me and they always fit me in when I have an emergency.  When I call with questions the vet talks to me personally and if she's busy she returns my call the same day.  They left messages on my machine as the results of each blood test came in so I knew within days what was going on with my cat.  I've chosen not to have certain procedures done and they've been very kind; not at all judgmental.  I've had vets before that make me feel like a bad pet parent.  I've had vets that were indifferent to me and my pets, they were more like factories processing as many pets as possible and barely talking to the human to explain anything.  The folks at Loudoun Cat Care are not like that.  They stayed open an extra 15 minutes when traffic made me late getting my cats, they've left medicine in a drop box when I couldn't get there before closing and I was able to pay for it later.   

When I had to have one cat put down, the staff was all very supportive.  They gave us all the time we wanted with Jasmine and didn't hurry us even though we got there shortly before closing.  We kept them an hour later than usual but they never once made us feel like they wanted us to hurry so they could go.  I was upset about my cat and felt bad for not wanting to put her through chemo because I'd fight harder and spend more for a human child.  The vet reminded me that a 10 year old human is different from a 10 year old cat and that in cat terms Jasmine was a senior.  She didn't make me feel judged for not doing more to save my cat's life and she told me I was doing the most humane thing. 

This is the best vet and I know people who travel from other cities to go here.  I know I certainly would but luckily I don't have to.  Use this vet for your cat!

I have using this company for about 10 years now and have never had an issue. She is very helpful and considerate to the animals. If something happens financially they will work woth you and give you multiple options.

We were searching for a new vet after our longtime vet retired and tried Loudoun Cat Care. One of our two cats needed an exam and both needed minor tests done. The staff at Loudoun Cat Care were wonderful and able to determine that one of our cats has a food allergy and not a more serious problem. I highly recommend this practice for anyone searching for a vet for a cat.

The vet and her assistants really try hard to get to know the cat and take time to let it adjust to the office environment before doing all the poking/prodding/and handling. Our cat intensely dislikes having her claws trimmed but with everybody working together they were all fixed up without extra stress for her.
The vet made several other periodic care recommendations and provided clear estimates for what each would cost. But did not go for the hard sell. Which was refreshing compared to other vets we have been to.
The staff are all very cheerful, friendly and professional. The location is convenient and we were seen right on arrival. Since this is a cat only veterinary service we did not have to worry about somebody with a dog (or bird etc) coming in and creating massive commotions. About a week or so previously we had an urgent but non emergency issue, we were able to get an appointment for just a couple hours after we called.

I've been goitaking my cat now for 2-3 months. I had been looking for a cats only vet for a while and finally have one. They provide excellent service.

I was told by another vet that my cat has a mass in her belly that needed to be removed as soon as possible. They did a needle biopsy, but couldn't really tell what the problem was and insisted in doing immediate surgery. I took my cat to Loudoun Cat Care for a second opinion. The vet there came to the same conclusion but were not in such a hurry to operate. My cat isn't happy going to the vet and attempts to bite and claw, but the vet and cat nurse treated her very well. The knew knew how to handle a scared cat and were still able to do the examination and an xray. The doctor then called me in the back to explain in detail everything she saw on the xays and felt in the examination. She also showed me and let me feel the mass she was talking about. She completely explained multiple care plans with pros and cons of all. She treated my cat (and me) with a lot more care and tenderness than the other vet ever did. I felt like we were both and quot;peopleand quot;. Although a little more expensive because they don't have a monthly plan, I'll continue to return to Loudoun Cat Care and outside an emergency, I'll not returned to the other vet.

Too many visits to tell stories, but for example, my long hair, 22-pound baby has had an issue for a long time with getting matted hair clumps etc faster than i have kept on top of them. It took a while for me to warm up to the idea of getting him a lion cut or other shaving, etc. I finally told Dr. W of my fears related to such grooming with long haired cats, which were largely based on a couple facts but a whole heap of speculation. She listened carefully and went through every step of where my brain was on the subject, as if I were having normal person thoughts rather than CRAZY CAT LADY thoughts. She told me her opinion and basically showed me I was wrong without telling me I was wrong, and I left completely convinced that the haircut was a great idea. She was right, of course... He liked it and I liked it. But the point here, is that she spent far more on the procedure than I did, what with all the counseling she provided to achieve the comfort level I needed. And she did this because she wanted my cat to have that which she knew he would be happy with. Wanted to give him the joy of less hair, no more knots, less hot, less work grooming, and that innate fancy-pants feeling they get after such a cut that shows he digs it and is proud of it. She cares. In the way we need her to.

When I moved to Loudoun County, I wanted to find a cat-only vet. I found Loudoun Cat Care on Angie's List and have been absolutely thrilled with their service. When I took my cat back for his tooth extraction, Dr. Weichmann detected a heart murmur and promptly called me. After much discussion, we agreed to postpone the tooth extraction until I could take my cat to a specialist. I have since taken my other cat in for a check-up and have been very happy with Loudoun Cat Care's attention and care for my cats.

They took me back and told me that the cat was going to be there overnight for procedures. They informed me about the operating periods and everything. They were really nice. I would use them again in the future.

We had been taking Toffee there since Aug 2010. All the staff was very supportive, compassionate and knowledgeable.
Dr. Weichman called during her off hours with test results and even to offer her sympathies.
I can't say enough good things about this vet and her staff. If you are looking for a cat vet - give them a call.

She provides friendly service, and the care is for cats exclusively. She is very good at what she does. I can usually get an appointment fairly quickly. I have been using her for the last couple of years for my two cats for any problems, and she seems to be pretty much right on the money in terms of her diagnosis and her solutions. Her price is typical. I would rate her highly and would continue to use her in the future.

We have total confidence in Loudoun Cat Care and highly recommend this practice to other cat owners.

We absolutely love Loudoun Cat Care! For anyone who is considering switching to an all feline vet, I would say DO IT! We drive 10 miles to see Dr. Wiechmann vs go to a vet that is more local to us. It's refreshing to see someone who is a specialist for felines. Dr. Wiechmann is very accessible and obviously cares about her "patients." She has a great personality and does not rush you. When we come to see her, we feel that we are her only patients. I like that she leans towards holistic care before rushing straight to drugs. We have a senior kitty with lots of health problems...to include a wierd pulmonary disease that no one has really seen before. Our cat's conditions require frequent visits at times. I will say that Dr. Wiichmann's follow up is terrific. There have been times we've left messages on the answering machine at night or on a weekend...and wouldn't you know it...within a couple of hours we get a call from Dr. Wiechmann. She checks her messages constantly and will call you back if there is a pressing issue. She's had to refer us to a few specialists for imminent problems (our cat needed an Internist and Ophthalmologist)...she will only refer you to someone she trusts and we really appreciate that. Oeverall, I would say her pricing is pretty fair. The things that tend to get our bill high is the meds, XRays, etc. I don't know how this compares to other vets. Overall, we highly recommend Loudoun Cat Care.

We purchased two Abyssinian kittens in January which started showing signs of sickness immediately after getting them home. We took them to a recommended vet but they cats were still sick and we did not feel comfortable with the vet. We decided to go to Loudoun Cat Care, a "feline only" veterinary care facility located in Leesburg. Dr. Wiechmann and her staff quickly diagnosed them with a rare parasite (Tritrichomonas foetus) which is becoming more common in catteries. Our cats are in perfect health now and we are extremely happy with Loudoun Cat Care!
