They did not come back until May , after multiple calls and emails. They tried 3 times from May to July to fix the floor. There were loose tiles and grout popping out. Many tiles were unevenly installed and we would trip on them. The last time they tried to fix the floor, the installer they hired found a defect in the overall installation as the durrock was not glued to the plywood sub floor, which was why the tiles were coming loose. When I brought this issue to the attention of J&J, they abanded the job and I never heard from them again. I am currently pursuing legal action against J&J.
There are people who hire contractors and fail to pay for services performed. Thus, the laws allow unpaid contractors and subcontractors to place liens against homes of people who, whether on purpose or not, fail to pay. In this particular situation, there is little doubt that the customer ever intended that the subcontractor not be paid (i.e. they did not get the work that they contracted for). Sadly, the homeowner is left holding the bag.
