Mr. Pisciotta came and looked at the stairs and the work to be done. He gave us an estimate of $150-$300 but said he couldn't give a definite answer until the work had been done. A few days later, he came out, did the work and charged us the full $300.00 for the job.
Initially, we were satisfied with the repair as everything appeared to be done properly when he left our residence. We asked him to come back to do some handyman work in the basement but never heard from him again regarding the additional work we wanted done.
A few weeks ago, I was doing some work under the stairs which Mr. Pisciotta repaired, and I noticed something sticking out from the side where he had done the repair. Mr. Pisciotta seated some 60+ nails but never drove them into the joining board supporting the stairs! Each nail is protruding out about 2 inches posing a formidable health hazard should someone (like me) working under the stairs hit their head against one of these nails.
I sent Mr. Pisciotta an email asking him to please come out and finish the job we had paid him for citing the danger the exposed nails posed to my children should one of them accidentally bang/scrape their head on it. The LAST and ONLY response message I received from Mr. Pisciotta was since that time was, “I will not have a chance to come by today. I will try to come by Saturday morning. If something comes up I will call you. Thank you again”. He never showed up that Saturday, nor did we hear from him ever again. I sent several follow-on emails since then which he has never responded to.
If you’d like to see a picture of the work he did, please contact me as AL doesn’t allow pictures to be attached to a review.
We have now since filed suit against Mr. Pisciotta for the incomplete work as well as health hazard he left behind.
My advice? I STRONGLY suggest going with someone else for your repairs!
