Excellent service. Able to get internet after the trimming. No debris left from trees in yard. Detail work required to cut tree down near patio path done correctly. Before moving to VA I have had to have many trees cut on previous properties. This was by far the best experience ever.

He did cut down the holly bushes but fail to tell me he did not have a grinded so he could not grind them that day. He did not want to also after telling me he would a few days before when he came out and look what kind of job it was.

Gallant Tree Service was one of three contractors asked to bid on this job.  It involved removing limbs on three trees.  Robert responded quickly to the request, was the lowest bid and scheduled a day to do the work.
One of the three trees had been ineptly trimmed by another contractor.  Robert removed the damaged sections and went on to trim the tree beautifully.  Two other trees had high limbs that overhung the house.  Some were broken and scraping the roof.  Robert trimmed these trees removing anything that could damage the house, but leaving the over story in beautiful condition.
Robert used only ladders, although the limbs were all over 20' up.  He took before and after photos of the trees, and the after condition was a vast improvement.  Robert and I spoke multiple times to review his bid and to tell me how he had planned out his work.  It turns out he's a great guy and that was a pleasure with whom to do business.

Mr. Gallant is quite the tree climber as his website attests.  We first became acquainted with his work several years ago when a neighbor engaged GTS to remove a tree which had fallen into our yard after a storm.  Also, our contractor engaged him
last year to remove 4-5 large trees as part of a landscaping project.  So when we decided to have a few other large, very tall old trees removed from our heavily wooded lot, we decided to call him directly.  Glad we did!
We must have caught him in a brief time between jobs, because we called one day and he called back and came out the next (or close to it) to give an estimate.  We couldn't argue with the price, so when he said he thought he could do it the next afternoon, we grabbed the opportunity.
We did question him about his intended methods.  We had just installed a new aggregare driveway along with our new landscaping, and we didn't want a heavy truck with a tall "cherry picker" on top on our driveway, or any heavy branches or trunk parts crashing to the ground or otherwise near our house.  He assured us he would personally climb the trees, by himself, and using ropes carefully lower each cut section to a helper on the ground.  That's exactly what he did.
We didn't think he would come the next day because it was starting to snow a little.  This did not deter him at all.  He and one helper brought all 3 large trees down (gently!) in about 4 hours and hauled most of the debris away.  He hauled the rest the next day.  We were amazed.  Very please with his work.  Would strongly recommend.

Overall, the job went very well, according to price, schedule, and completion of the work identified to be done.   The owner of the tree service, Bob Gallant, both estimates the work to be done and, along with helpers, comes to do the work.  We had three tree services estimate the job and both on the basis of price and overall comfort, we chose Gallant Tree Service and were very satisfied with the work he performed. An award-winning climber, Bob quickly climbed the huge Oak Tree in our front yard which we had removed, trimming it limb by limb before cutting it to the ground.  We also had him cut down a large beech tree in the backyard, as well as cutting off several large limbs from surrounding trees.  When finished, Bob hauled the cut wood away, and even came back the next day to replant several small bushes which he assessed had to be moved during the cutting process for their safety.
.
Note:  My only suggestion would be this:  Since Gallant tree service DOES NOT do stump grinding, Bob recommended someone else to do the work for us.  We were away when the stump was ground (it WASN'T Gallant tree service) , coming back to find a huge mound of debris in our yard, left behind from the stump grinding.  Had I known that it wasn't part of the initial service, I would have asked that the debris be cleaned up after the job was done.

I would highly recommend Gallant Tree Services.  I had three very tall oaks taken down.  All three oaks were within 10-13 feet of my
house.  Mr. Gallant was especially careful to protect my house while at the same time demanded a safe work area for himself and his workers.  The operation took two days to complete.  At the end of each day Mr. Gallant personally ensured that the area was cleared of all brush and logs.  The cost of the operation was quite reasonable concerning the amount of work and the close quarters.  Mr.Gallant provided a firm written estimate of the cost and the time that was required. He provided the evidence of the proper licensing and insurance coverage.  If I have additional tree work, I will call Mr. Gallant first

I spent $400 to cut down a tree and later another company came by saying, there is a tree that requires to be cut down.  I asked them the cost and was advised $1000, which was a huge difference.  It’s a family owned business and the rapport between workers is very good.  They were very honest and handled emergency situations very well.  They are the best and will use only their services, henceforth.

I like them. It's a little family business. The owner is Robert Gallant. They were something to watch. They got up on these 20 foot tall trees and knew exactly where they were going to place a limb. They would cut it off and it would go exactly. They would clean up and cut it all up. A lot of people gave us estimates, but their price was reasonable. I don't remember exactly what it was, but I know it was reasonable and less than what the others were charging. I liked their attitude. They were friendly. They were honest. They were just good people. They were good at what they did.
