Sean was so nice and really knew his stuff. Not only did he get our AC working quickly, but he made it more efficient while he was at it. We signed up for the membership and now he comes out twice a year for regular maintenance. He insists on coming in the basement door so as to not track mud in the house! Great business!

Around the 10th of January I noticed that my outdoor Heat Pump fan was making a very loud noise. The unit was completely frozen on the outside and when I looked inside where the fan is located there are about 3 to 4 inches of Ice. I called Conn's and they came out as soon as they could.
Conn's Heating and A/C has been keeping this unit alive for the last couple of years. They have saved me numerous times by replacing or rebuilding the necessary parts. This time the cost to fix the new set of problems were too much so I decided to replace the unit. Sean was extremely helpful and made several recommendations. The whole process was very easy. Sean ordered the new unit and made arrangements to come onsite to install the system. They arrived on time and even in the rain worked quickly to restore heat to my home. Conn's workers were professional and very clean. After they left you would not have known that workers were inside my home. I would recommend and use their services in the future. Great Job...

Mr. Conn serviced my old system for a few years so when it finally died,
he quoted estimates on several models.  He was never pushy and was very
knowledgeable about his work.  They installed the new system in one day
and came back the next day when I had an issue with the thermostat.
This is a local company and I am happy that I can support this business.

Being a landlord living in another state, one of the dilemmas we face is selecting honest and professional service personnel from afar. Fortunately, Conn Heat and A/C responds quickly to our needs, coordinates with the tenants to work out a mutually agreeable time of service, and contacts us with the results. It's nice to have someone you can trust when you're 1,000 miles away. I would also like to note that in our initial call to Conn just before Thanksgiving, I said that we might need a new system. It was a perfect opening for a sales pitch to replace the current system. However, Sean said the system did not need replacement at this time, only maintenance and/or repair service. How refreshing! We renewed the annual maintenance contract.

Everything was fine and I had no problem for several experiences. Then I had them come out for a repair and they said I needed a whole new unit. I said that the compressor should be under warranty, but they said I was wrong. They wanted over $9,000 for a new system. I called and said that it wasn't right that they were trying to replace the whole system when it wasn't necessary. I had to pay them over $300 for the last visit, and I'm still not sure why. I had another company that came out, and they also said I should replace the unit, but they were estimating about $7500. This company said the compressors are no longer made, which I knew to be incorrect. I called a 3rd company and told them what I knew and about wanting to just get the compressor replaced. This 3rd  company made some calls, and confirmed that there was a compressor that was in stock and it was covered under warranty. He still wanted his company to come out and check, and they knew right away what the problem was. They were done in about 30 minutes. He ordered to compressor and it was in the next day. My total cost with the 3rd company was less than $500.  I am very disappointed that after years getting to know Conn's and having confidence in them that they tried to take advantage of me this way. I found it very offensive and I would never use them again.
Response from Conn's Heating & Air
"I’m sorry you had a less than positive experience with our company. Concerning your compressor our technician called Goodman and gave them your model and serial numbers and was told by Goodman that your unit was not under warranty. We always call to check the status of equipment because each system is different and different companies have different warranties on their equipment. The quotes we give are based on the size and quality of the system. The price quoted to you was $6,495.00 for an American Standard 2ton Heritage 15 Heat Pump with a variable speed air handler. At the time there was a $1,500 tax rebate and a Virginia Rebate of $300.00. We were also at that time offering a $500.00 factory rebate making the total cost of $5,995.00 at the time of purchase, and you would have been able to submit for the other rebates. If you had a question about your bill or charges made you could have discussed the charges with the technician. At the time you would have had to authorize all services before the technician would have performed them. Even after the services had been performed if you had a problem with the work done you could have called and talked to Sean. We strive to provide excellent customer service."

They are very responsive and they come out to do the work immediately when I call them. The service technicians are always really nice. Their price is very conservative. They don’t try to over charge me for things and they are very nice and they take extra time to tell about different things. I would rate them high overall. I would use them again in the future.
