Positive experience and now I have a functioning vacuum

One of the prongs on my vacuum's plug was broken. The first question I was asked ""how old is the machine?". Said 5-6 years. The repairman immediately began showing me new vacuums that ranged in price from $800-1000. Told him to please just fix the cord. I was not interested in a new machine. He then proceeded to tell me that if he just replaced the plug I might get sparks (??) and he could replace the whole mechanism for $125 plus labor. Declined that offer. The plug was replaced for $30. When I picked up the machine, there were 2 men lounging in the store. They were borderline rude. I paid, took the vacuum and left with no comment from either of them. I guess they were annoyed that I spent $30 not $1000. I will find another business for any future repairs.

Very responsive. Quoted a higher price for replacing the wand on my Kenmore canister but actual price was about $100 less. Appreciate the honesty when we picked up the vacuum cleaner and the price was only $60. It took about 1 week longer extra to have it repaired. ( 2 weeks total)

Had a warranty repair on a brand new vacuum. It was a minor repair and it appears to be complete and accurate. However, after one day shy of three weeks I had not heard anything from the company after dropping of my machine. I then called (which took a long while to reach anyone) and asked for an update. At that point I found out that they hadn't touched my machine but it could be done that day. While the work was complete, I find the lack of communication and time required for the repair unacceptable. If I hadn't have called I believe I would still be waiting. I will not use them again.

Do use this company. Fair and a good value. Doesn't try to sell you more than you need for repairs.... That's what's important!

I dropped off the vacuum (Dirt Devil bag-less) on July 7th. When 2 weeks had gone by without a call from them, I gave them a call to check up. They told me that they would call back with an estimate, and they did within one day. The representative, Jay, told me that the brush and filter needed to be replaced and that he would call back when it was complete. He called back and I went to pick it up the following Friday. When I arrived, Jay said he had fixed it, but hadn't checked to see if it worked, so he plugged it in and in fact, it didn't work. The belt he had replaced it with was not the proper size. He told me he would call me the next day, Saturday, but I never received a call. By now, it had been 3 weeks since I had dropped it off. Granted, he did offer me a loaner vacuum to use in the meantime, but I was optimistic that it would be fixed and decided to wait. When my husband called and inquired, he was told it was ready and he could pick it up, but when he arrived, a few minutes after 7pm, they were closed. I picked it up the following Monday and it does seem to work fine, although it is a lot louder and Jay told me that they do not make a replacement belt for this model anymore. So when/if this belt goes, there will be no way to fix this vacuum again. He gave me a duplicate belt for when this happens. Overall, the quality of service was just fine. I was disappointed that the initial estimate/evaluation took so long, would I still be waiting if I hadn't called to check on it? Also, I can understand the delay from ordering different belts, but I would have appreciated more communication from the shop as to the status of the repair. When I finally got the cleaner back, Jay was very polite and didn't charge me for labor, only for the parts, which I thought was very reasonable.
