They saved me a ton of money. The dealer had recommended a new transmission. These guys carefully checked and determined what the problem was and fixed it quickly. Plus, they were there to answer my many phone calls and walked me through the process.

Did a repair for me months ago that required the gas tank to be reflled. While the repair went ok I was a little put off that they charged me over 3.50 a gallon for regular gas. There is a gas station next door so it wasnt like they had to go a long way. That bit og gouging makes me wonder where else I may have been overcharged. Called back to enquire and they used obscene language. Would not recommend especially since there are other places close by that are more professional.

Herndon Reston Transmission was great to work with and very professional from the first time I met Randy until the repairs on my vehicle were completed. He test drove my car, confirmed that a replacement rear differential was required, located a used differential with low mileage (40K), provided a 6-month, 6000-mile warranty that includes parts and labor, and completed the work in one day. I will definitely be a repeat customer and highly recommend Herndon Reston Transmission for any type of vehicle repair.

They're very good. They have quality service, they are not wishy washy. They are straightforward and the price is reasonable. They are very professional.

If I could rate them higher than an A I would. This is the best place to go if you need auto repair done. They are very professional and courteous. It is hard to find a place that is honest in their communication with you. they also worked with the extended service contract I had. They go above and beyond every time i have a need for their services. I would highly recommend Herndon Reston transmission! Even though they are not the closet or convenient service shop for me, i will not take any of my cars any where else.

great! The problem was correctly diagnosed, the part was ordered, and the repair done right the first time.

Perfect. What appeared to be a transmission problem was diagnosed as a bad pcv valve and coolant temperature sensor. What could have been a $3000 repair was drastically reduced. Working with Randy is a pleasure. Nice to know there are still honest repair establishments

Wonderful experience. On time. It is my third time dealing with shop. Always courteous, prices are reasonable and they go other future issues there may be in the car.

On two separate occasions, Randy was able to fit me in the same day as requested and did a thorough, professional and complete mechanical evaluation of each car and in both cases found and highlighted potential problems with the vehicle. In the first car he found issues that would have cost thousands to fix if I bought the car and were problems not readily seen or reported on Carfax. On the second car he found an issue I was able to rectify with the dealership. I would definitely recommend Herndon Reston Transmission and would use them again.

I was surprised to find the initial check: looking at the engine, fluid check, and road test was done at no charge by Mr. Ted Hartman; he found no transmission problem, wrote down what might be causing the "check engine" light to come on and referred me back to the garage that sent me (who didn't have transmission expertise but said to check that out first). I will do as suggested, but it was refreshing not to merely be dismissed or told I needed some expensive repair on my 27 year old car, and it wasn't worth doing.

So far so good (van drives much better and the engine is smoother). Randy was very helpful and understood this was a large ticket item and he was very helpful with getting the van towed (a long distance). HRT was very good on price point (I priced places local to my home, several dealers, etc.). HRT offers a very good warranty as well; though I hope I never have to use it. This shop is nowhere near my house, but it's up where I do a lot of work, so the distance to get it repaired was not a big issue.
The price above is with the tow bill (still a big bill, even with help from Randy), so your price would likely be much better for a similar repair sans the long distance tow. The rear electronic engine mount on the Odyssey is crazy expensive (almost $700) so if you don't need that, then you'll save that much more (Honda needs to address those costs and the design).
Overall, HRT has a good reputation (heard this from folks outside of Angie's List as well). It's been a good experience (as good as can be expected laying out that type of $$$) :-)
