I am getting to be so fed up with this gym! I give this gym almost $250 a month and for what I have been asking myself lately. I pay for personal training, small group, and my membership is paid in full already. Half of the small groups that they have on their schedule (which I PAY for) dont even run...why, because the trainer that is supposed to teach the class schedules a personal training appointment over it, so he is essentially getting paid for teaching a class which doesn't even happen and for his PT appointment. I have approached the trainers about it before and they claim that I need to go online to sign up for the class. I have tried this and can't even find what hes talking about. Gold's regularly takes my month every month without me needing to do anything, so why should I need to sign up weekly to take a class that I have paid for? Also, if the trainer that teaches a small group class can't teach it for a legit reason, can you please find a trainer to fill in who can actually teach the class or do something similar because I will first half ass the workout and then when I get pissed off enough I will walk if was expecting one workout and get something completely different. Finally, when I have issues with my account, it shouldn't take a couple of weeks to get it resolved and I shouldn't have to actually get pissed off for it to be resolved. I am so close to cancelling my contract for small group, and if I did that I would also cancel it for training to just leave the gym and get rid of all the headaches at one time. What keeps me from doing that though is I am paid in full already, and I like my personal trainer.But if I get a few more months of the headache that I got today, and the past couple of months with small group class and I can guarantee that I will have no problem going through those headaches.

I used Gold's Gym Herndon for almost three years. It is conveniently located with all the popular classes in there. The gym is however small and old as compared to the ones built in Sterling and Ashburn. Yet, if you are looking for a small intimate place -- this could be the place for you.

Mixed experience. The staff is really good. All good folks. They do, though, tend to favor and quot;their kindand quot; of customer. (Hint: If you're not built like an offensive lineman or linebacker, this wouldn't include you.) It's not like they're not nice to everyone. But in the way they interact with customers, you can definitely see whom they favor.
The biggest frustration with this place is that it seems that the management wants to turn it into part-fitness center and part really loud disco/nightclub. At all hours. Yes, even 7 am. Management lends a sympathetic ear to any complaints/concerns/suggestions -- even saying, 'hey, we don't like the loud dance music on all the time either' -- but then they never change the policy. They insist, and quot;It's what our members want.and quot; Even if members that you talk to say, 'Well, no. It's actually kinda annoying and loud and obnoxious and repetitive.and quot;
Management will suggest headphones. Which is fine in theory except that you have to really crank your music to drown out the dance club noise, which is cranked to 11. If you just want to work out in relative quiet and, I dunno, even have a conversation with another customer, that will be challenging.
Management doesn't seem to warm up to the idea of having designated and quot;dance club musicand quot; times (like after 8 pm when that kind of crowd is more likely there) and either no music or quieter, more mainstream music times.
All of this is driven by some petition that came up a long time ago that maybe 20 members signed, demanding that they have their dance music on loud, all the time. If a business essentially lets a relatively small group of customers dictate an unyielding policy that irritates the rest of its membership, that's bad business. And, in fact, I'll sign up at the Herndon city center or the Reston Y before I go back to Gold's.

They are very friendly people. It is 24 hours a day. It is very accessible and clean. They have all the right equipments. Generally, when I go there it is not very crowded so I have got no problem for that.
