Refused to give us an estimate. Stuck us with a $3,000 bill after the job was done. Just kept saying, "yeah, I'll give you an estimate next time I stop by to work." Took a month to do 12 hours of work because he only showed up for a couple hours a week. And only showed up after repeated calls. Always left the place a mess afterwards too. The bill shows he started January 5th, didn't show up again until the 19th, then after much fighting, decided to finish the job on the 25th and clear out by the 1st of February.

Ben helped us install two new dedicated outlets to provide power and cable to our tv and internet. Ben was extremely professional and a great help. This is our first home and Ben provided some great tips and insight into other areas of our house (which is over 100 years old). Ben also took the time to show me how to do a few things myself. I would highly recommend Ben to others.

Most of the work was fine and went well, however, we had issues with under cabinet lighting.  Ben mentioned under cabinet lighting to us and I told him we would think about it and whether or not it was something we wanted.  We ended up not wanting this done, but when we told him the following day, he had already done the wiring for this.  Since it was quite a bit of work to undo, he said he would leave it in and not charge us for it.  This was fine with me, but this meant adjusting some of our plans and since we have no immediate plans to use the wiring, we need the wiring boxed off and up to code until we decide what we want to do with it.

When Ben came to finish up, he did not box off the wiring and also forgot to leave our house key, which I specifically mentioned before we left the house. I called his office the same day and was told that the next time Ben was in the area, he would call me to set something up and come by.  I did not hear from him for about 3 weeks and called the office and left several messages since no one picked up.  I called again the following week when someone (I believe it must be his wife, it's the only woman I've spoken to) finally picked up and said that Ben would not be free for another 3 weeks or so and that they would ask Ben about mailing the key and that I will get a call back to set this us. This is highly unprofessional that someone takes my house key and does not return it for over a month or return a phone call.  When I finally heard back from the woman that works with Ben, she said she would mail the key and that I would need to talk to Ben about the exposed wiring because I told him to do the work and then changed my mind -- which is not the case at all! He did work without authorization to do so!! I also asked her to have Ben call me if this was the case because clearly he does not answer the phone number I have for his business and he doesn't return phone calls.  How am I supposed to speak to Ben about the issue if he does not pick up his business number and won't return a phone call?!!. I tried to allow for time the key to be mailed, but two weeks later, no word from Ben or the woman who handles the phones, no key, nothing.  I have called twice, left messages, no answer, no call back.  COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL.  At this point, I just want my key back.  I would never work with Ben again.  He was nice enough in person, but also showed up in a t-shirt completely covered in holes.  I will keep contacting them until I get my key back, but it seems very unlikely.

When the house was built, the automatic sensor for the front pole light was mounted on the house (about 4 feet from the actual light). As the shrubbery along the house matured, the sensor no longer went on and off--so the light was on (unnecessarily) all the time. I used Benjamin's Electric for a previous outdoor lighting repair and was happy with the service, so I called them again. The scheduler was courteous, took the necessary information, and scheduled the service within the same week. Ben came with the necessary supplies, reviewed my request, and did the work in about an hour. He capped off the old sensor and installed a new one on the light pole. It looks great and the light now goes on and off as it should. Will definitely use them again.

Every single visit has been pleasant.  Ben & Preston are professional, knowledgeable, easy to work with and reasonably priced.  We will continue to call them for our electrical needs.

We have now used Ben three times....excellent everytime.
This last time was a bad circuit breaker on our AC unit and he came out on the weekend and fixed it  quickly.
Will always call Ben for electrical needs.

I was surprised when the assistant showed up alone(but on time!). He did fine on the switch replacements and repairs, but had to make a number of phone calls to Benjamin regarding the thermostat(admittedly a complicated situation). Eventually I had both the assistant and Benjamin on the job. They were both extremely pleasant and quick-working. Switches were done neatly, although there was quite a bit of debris(bits of wire, drywall)left around each job site. Lots of footprints on the floors, so adding those attractive blue shoe covers when they enter a home would be a good idea. Everything seems to be working fine.

I had carefully checked his licensing and reputation, so I was surprised when his assistant showed up to do the job. I believe the assistant only had a year of experience. He was somewhat unsure of what he was doing and had to call his boss, Ben, a few times for instructions. His assistant arrived about 3 hrs late. Work was performed, although I had to insist on a few attempts to properly bury the equipment deep enough in the grout line so that grout could be reapplied. (The placement was too superficial and left no room to apply any grout.) The final results are good and the system now works fine.
