They said that they would be here at 9 am this morning. I received a call letting me know that they would be late. Two men arrived, an older gentleman and a younger man. They only brought one saw. The younger man acted as a helper to the older man, held his tools, etc. I had six things that I needed done. They put up two door knobs in my bedroom and bathroom. They were supposed to put up a shelf in the bedroom and attempted several times. The young man installed a mailbox to the pre-existing pole. The young boy got to the bottom portions on 2 out of 6 shutters before I was called by the manager and he said the time was up. The baseboard in the bathroom wasn't completely done. I had already gotten the wood precut at the store. It needed one angle cut and then nailed in place. They arrived at 9:45am and I was told at about 1:15 that the time was up. I didn't get my four hours of work in and didn't feel like they actually sent out two workers. The younger gentleman didn't do any of his own work. Basically, I had one worker here. I paid for 8 hours of labor from one man or four hours from two. I do not think that I got my money's worth. I've had another man put in a floor in 5 hours by himself. There is no reason that these two men shouldn't have been able to get to the six smaller jobs that I had for today.
Response from Shark Construction
"We scheduled an appointment with member and gave a hour advance call that we were running late due to traffic. I have GPS records that shows the Contractors arriving at 9:43 and leaving at 1:58. We treated her with respect and she hung up the office twice after the visit. We are a professional company with over 30 years of experience, she wanted work done to base on her past experiences, she even tried to compare our timing with electrical contractors. I explained that carpentry work takes a little longer than electrical work. We tried to explained we are the professional and would like to cut our own materials. We had to fix every single pre-cut piece of trim she purchased they were small pieces mixed with long pieces and no cuts were measured correctly by customer. We also explained trim work is custom work and it takes time to fix the cuts she measured incorrectly. Her doors were older doors that required modifications, they were not just simple door knob change-outs. Overall every single job she had for the 4 hour period of time required time and modifications. As per Big Deal coupon any job that requires two people, the customer will get 4 hours instead of 8 hours. I think the amount of work compared to the time was sufficient. I will say her complaints are unfounded and custom trim work should not be compared to flooring. We were under-minded the entire visit and verbally abused."

I contacted Shark again to perform work for finished basement and new HVAC system. They installed the basement to be an apartment and I'm loving the additional income.

The general manager which he looks and acts like Holmes on Homes. Walked me through the whole process. They gave a fair price and started on my project right away.

This is the first big construction job I had to hire a Class A contractor. They were very knowledgeable about all the county codes. June 2011 a bad storm came through the Richmond Area. I had a tree fall on my home and totally destroyed the left side. Shark Construction contacted me via mail and asked to give a free estimate. They came to the estimate appointment on time and gave me all their references, licenses, insurance information. That insure me I was in good hands.I had 4 different estimates from other contractors and even awarded a contract to another contractor. Shark made me feel so comfortable I had to call the other contractor to cancel. Shark did a complete rebuild of my home from foundation to roof. They did a fast and very professional job. This was a turn key job and Shark Construction never had any sub-contractors on my job.
