RIGHT AT HOME

The owner told me that she charged $95 per hour for her time and we arranged a consult in my home. I assumed the visit would be $95, but she went on and on about her personal life (her divorce, her new fianc in Iraq) and then charged me $140 because the meeting had gone over an hour. Then the real fun began. Among the highlights: 1.) She recommended furniture from her store that turned out not to work in the room and then she would NOT take the furniture back. 2.) Though the prices at the consignment store are good, delivery (from outside firms recommended by the owner) was upwards of $150 each instance! And the movers ruined 2 items and damaged the paint in my hallway. 3.) She recommended that we reupholster my old sofa because "it would be hard to find something to fit in the room." Then she marked the foam up x2 and the fabric up x3 behind my back. The sofa came out looking awful and she refused to take it back or try to make right on it in any way. The sofa ended up costing $2500--I could have purchased a nice, new sofa for much less. 4.) She visited my home in April and the work never got done until September. Five months to furnish one room? 5.) She provided no timelines and incomplete upfront estimates. 6.) She was unresponsive to my repeated calls.
