PMK Construction

The construction lasted about 4.5 months, which was within a week or two of the estimate given. It was well worth being able to stay in the location we like and the custom storage solutions PMK provided leaves us with a space that fits us perfectly without having to go through the real estate process. The most important qualities in a contractor are trust, communication, and quality, and PMK exceeded expectations in those areas. As for trustworthiness, once we hired PMK, we were confident that his decisions and his negotiations with subcontractors were always in our best interests, because he kept us informed and asked us for input. Pricing was fair, and Patrick always explained how funds were used, and offered options for cost savings where possible while guarding us against taking shortcuts on critical systems. As for communication,  I was pleased with the way PMK listened to our needs and also the creative ideas we brought to the project. For example, we found some decorative doors at a salvage yard, and after careful rehabilitation, they are now a focal point of the great room, adding unique style to the space. I always felt comfortable asking questions, and Patrick's pleasant and positive attitude made the process go smoothly. One reason we chose PMK was Patrick's willingness to allow our family to live in the house for as long as possible during the construction. He was incredibly accommodating in this, and always put our children's safety first. We have four kids under age 10, and he was careful to block vents and keep dust our of our space. He also ensured that each subcontractor was respectful of the kids, requiring professional language and most importantly, being onsite to meet the subcontractor, and usually also working alongside or remaining onsite to ensure quality and keep project completion on schedule. Lastly, I can attest to the high quality of construction because my brother is a contractor for a custom home builder (who lives too far away to do our project) and when he walked through he was impressed with the level of detail and the solid materials used by PMK and the subcontractors. I would hire any of the subcontractors to come back to do smaller jobs if needed in the future, and I certainly would recommend Patrick Kennedy and his small, specialized team to complete any size job, from the window replacements he did for us a few years ago, right up to constructing a brand new house from the ground up. He can handle any project with confidence, and once you know that your home is in good hands, you can relax and enjoy seeing the improvements.

They were fantastic. They were on time and exactly at the budget. Every afternoon when they left, everything was neat, swept and cleaned everything. They have attention to detail including cleaning the work site every day.

It was a delight to work with Patrick Kennedy, Kyle, and Matt of PMK Construction. They were hired to install 18 new windows and in some cases the replacement was indeed a challenge due to the construction of the old original (1954) windows. The guys were extremely prompt every morning and at the end of the day thoroughly cleaned up, stowed their materials, and rolled up the tarps, even though they would be back the very next morning to put them down again. They kept me apprised of where they would be working each day and any issues that came up during the process. Everybody was very pleasant and even tolerant of my little pesky dog getting underfoot at times! Patrick has a great crew working with him and he is very hands on and available during the project. I was pleasantly surprised at the end of the project when he explained that a few of the windows took less time than originally expected therefore he reduced the cost from the original estimate! It is not often that the final charges are reduced...it is usually the other way around; nor would I have ever known had he not brought it to my attention. His honesty and integrity is much appreciated...

Patrick and his staff are excellent tradesmen (carpenters) and we are well-pleased with our new back porch.  They were extremely responsive, reliable, and adaptable in meeting the needs of our construction project.  They were also very committed in completing the project according to schedule.  Patrick (and staff) are very skilled, efficient, and meticulous in their work.  We would highly recommend PMK for any home addition or renovation projects.
