He charged $100 for 15 minutes and a terrible mis-diagnosis. Our dishwasher had a small leak. He said there must be a crack and "the only fix is a full replacement of the motor assembly" or to just buy a new one. He said the motor assembly replacement would be $400+. Because of the cost, I decided to check it out myself (I have never done any kind of dishwasher repair). Within 5 minutes, I saw where the water was coming from, googled it, and found that the most likely issue was a single seal grommet. Ordered a 2 pack on Amazon for less than $10 and replaced it in under 30 minutes. I called to say that I don't think I should be charged $100 for 15 minutes and a mis-diagnosis, but he disagreed and suddenly changed his statement from a motor assembly being the "only fix" to saying he "only uses OEM parts and he couldn't find the grommet through KitchenAid." But oddly enough, at NO TIME did he mention is might only be a grommet that's easily replaceable, or even the diverter (which the grommet was in) that is also easily replaceable. The diverter was only ~$40 for an aftermarket replacement as well. I've come to my own conclusion on whether he: 1) is incompetent, 2) was only looking for a service fee with only intending to do any real work if it was a significant cost, or 3) only uses OEM parts and forgot to mention it, while also forgetting to mention I could easily fix it myself for less than $10. I would not recommend you having to reach your own conclusion. Instead, find someone else, or just use Youtube.

Mr Oliver asked me some questions during the initial conversation, said he thought he knew the problem, and needed to order some parts. The next day he called and said he could come the very next day. He arrived as expected and repaired the refrigerator.

James Oliver responded to my call quickly and set up a prompt appointment. At first he was unable to determine the cause of the leak, but he persisted and finally found the problem. He repaired it quickly and completely and left the kitchen area clean. He was very professional and responsible throughout the visit. I would definitely call him again.

James has been doing work for us for years. He is a very polite, professional, experienced repair person. Always on time and leaves my appliances repaired and cleaner than he finds them. I usually leave him a key if I am not able to be there with no worries. I would highly recommend using James Oliver. He has been repairing appliances for 40+ years and will at times try to diagnose the problem over the phone which saves us the repair bill if we just need to purchase a new appliance. He will also put in the new appliances regardless of where I buy them. He will do garbage disposals, and light plumbing as well which has been helpful.

Communication was good. We called and Mr. Oliver came out the next day to do the repairs. He was quick and efficient. From my description of the problem over the phone the previous day, he already knew what the issue was and how to approach it. The repair went smoothly and the was done in just a bit over an hour. The price was very reasonable. The cost of the parts was about what I would have paid for them if I had ordered them online myself. The rest of the cost was labor, which was at or below prices quoted by other providers. All in all, I was very satisfied and would absolutely recommend him to friends and family and would hire him again without hesitation.

Arrived as scheduled. Set right to work and provided a quote to replace parts and finish the job. I accepted the quote and he finished. We had a problem after he left--the bottom of the ice maker was dripping water, which was not part of the original problem. He came back within a few more days and fixed that without an additional charge. Apparently something hadn't been put together quite right. Seemed professional but I suspected we paid more than we ought to have. The parts charge was $110 and the tech time was $275; the notation was 2 hours of time, and he was here at least that long. Did we pay for a trip charge on top of the two hours of service? $135+/hour seems high.

Mr. Oliiver was on time, had all the equipment with him and fixed everything. He explained everything he was doing, did a lot of trouble shooting before repair. The part was the same onet that had been replaced twice before. He said he would contact Sub-Zero to report the part that failed in one year to see if they would be able to offset the part cost. Mr Oliver called me last week and said that a check would be coming soon from the company for a generous amount. He will be my first choice in the future for any repairs that may be needed in my home. I am very, very pleased!

Oliver s Appliance Services is a great company to deal with. They are always friendly and polite. He was here on time. Also, most importantly, they do a great job. They are always able to fix my problems on the first try. I have always been satisfied with their services.
