We purchased a to be built home from this contractors brother Cartwright homes llc .from start to finish it was a mess,from the people he hired to the kids from his neighborhood putting in my tile work(that cracked and is splitting and will cost over 1000.00 to fix now).The sheetrock in the kitchen and 2 other rooms looks like a rollercoaster(wavy) the trim work looks like a child did it.And the concrete drive has 4 + 18 inch cracks. We filed a complaint with the dpor(state} they didn't tarnish him because we did not buy the house from him and told us to go after himlegally out of pocket.We made several attempts to get all repairs done in the 1 year warranty period,but they did not respond properly till the 11 th month, came over for 6 hrs and caulked and shimmed crooked doors that would not latch. All repairs were not done correctly(he told the dpor in an interview he gave us 20 days of labor and we wanted everything perfect] we have all documentation of the times he was at our home doing repairs and it was 8 hrs in 1 year, and some of that was the punch list.We hired a lawyer and a letter was sent they refused to fix all the major issues and only agreed to fix the stuff that was from other contractor's and gave us the number for a shower door guy? we sent out another letter from lawyer giving them 1 more chance to get this resolved ,and we have gotten no response...I called our local tv station and they came out and did a story but could not get a hold of the builder(he kept hanging up on the reporter} they did however reach Tod Mitchell and he said his brother was no longer in this business. How is all this legal.I am forced now to go after both in court.These guys have built 5 of the 6 houses on my street and all have issues not taken care of.We are looking at 10.0000+ to fix everything wrong but were willing to settle with the driveway replaced, they told us all concrete cracks!
