Laurie & Rick Metzger are terrific! They were recommended by friends that had used them for their carpeting needs and we are so glad we used them. They are professional, “listen” to their clients, try to match your job with your budget, and the installation was very well done. We could not have been more pleased. I know who I’m calling if we ever need anything in the flooring category done! Could not recommend them highly enough!!

They had to pull up all the old flooring and put new flooring down for us, and it took about a week. They were even careful of all the painting we had recently done, and they also moved our furniture. They did a great job, and it was worth the price. I would recommend them to anyone.

This company was used to replace the laminate in my kitchen. They laid laminate, padding, and carpeting for me back in 2005 and I was very pleased. The technician arrived as scheduled, completed the work on time, and cleaned up the mess. I am using them a third time February 2015. I would recommend them to anyone needing their services.

If you want quality, you need to use this company. I have seen other reviews giving them a and quot;Band quot; for price, but I can say that I am 100 percent satisfied with the job Metzger Flooring did with my home in Richmond...and I felt the pricing was very fair. Completely professional from start to finish, I cannot say enough for the job they have done. They have a whole showroom full of samples that you can view and they offer professional advice (built upon years of experience) of what you may need. Highly recommended. Thank you!

Outstanding service and installation.

From beginning to end the team was helpful, responsive, and professional. The quote was not a long drawn out process. Even as we changed our minds on materials, Brian quickly adjusted the quote so that we knew exactly where we stood at all times. We had several companies in to give quotes and Brian was the most cost effective backed up by a firm belief on our part that this was a man of his word. Brian and his team exceeded all of our expectations. When his team arrived they treated our home as if it was their own. Even when we found a mold spot on the sub floor and work had to momentarily stop, Brian and his team worked with us to get this fixed and back to work quickly. The finished results were as I have said perfect. This was a team that made this entire process easy and enjoyable. Thanks to them.

We used them for stair and hall carpeting as told in an earlier report. At that time we asked for a budgeting quote for the kitchen to figure how much we needed to set aside. With the money saved we visited the showroom to examine options. The last time we had that floor done we picked good quality flooring and it lasted us over 30 years. So we again picked a high quality at a premium cost. Since fake wood would conflict with the real wood in our dining room, we took home pieces of vinyl to check color and style. Metzger came to measure and give a fresh estimate. We also had a year-old estimate from a Lowes subcontractor for comparison. I judged the labor from Metzger was 10% to 15% higher than the Lowes subcontractor but Metzger would remove the old flooring where the Lowes subcontractor would not. (Leaving the old flooring down would have raised the new floor above the floors of the adjoining room and require trimming 100-year-old doors.) The Metzger subcontractor who installed the floor was a perfectionist. Every cut and fit is nearly perfect. There are minimum seams and those in places that get little wear and they're not even visible. We decided to replace the toilet and sink in the half-bath in the process and - with a little help from me - installed the new with no addition in cost. This vendor does what they say they will do, does a better job than expected, and all that with what we judge to be a small premium.

Rick and Laurie sent a top-notch installer, who arrived when he said, did a great job, helped my husband with the stove, and finished the job within five hours. Rick stopped by to check and help, and he called after the job was completed to see if everything was done to our satisfaction.

First class; choices, including price alternatives, longevity, etc. were thoroughly covered. Inquiry about children and pets led to specific, knowledgeable recommendations. Measurement and the estimate were quick. The price was within 5% of the other estimates we had received. The only issue was we were not informed when the carpet order was placed so we had to call to find out when to expect installation; a minor inconvenience. A subcontractor removed the old carpet and installed the new carpet in one morning. The subcontractor failed to check one of the doors which would not open correctly over the new carpet. Metzger offered two solutions. We picked one and they fixed the problem within a few days at no added charge.

Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that we needed to babysit the installers. The first day of carpet installation went quickly and seamlessly. However, the second day, we assumed all would go as smoothly, but in fact upon arrival to check on the work after they had finished some property damage had been done when removing the toilet to install the floor. The installer found a challenge when it came to putting the linoleum in the bathroom. It raised the toilet up so far that it bumped into the window sash. Instead of checking with us first, he decided to hack out the shape of the toilet tank from the sash and in the process destroyed the drywall behind the toilet and under the sash. I don't know if he was hoping we wouldn't notice, but thought it was unprofessional and dishonest to leave such a mess. We had to call Metzger to get the situation repaired. Rick Metzger came out to see the damage, and had a contractor whom we already had doing some work for us in another area fix the problem. Since the removal of the toilet, we haven't been able to get it functioning again. The problem unfortunately, isn't as easy as turning the water valve on. We'll need to hire a plumber to fix the problem.

We looked all around to find reasonably priced carpet when we re-did our living room. This is one of those small, out of the way showrooms that builders and their clients use. But it is also a great place to go and see a big selection of the latest carpet and flooring. This is a small business with very friendly folks. AND prices were among the best we found.
