Max Moving and Storage

I hired Max Movers because of their rating on Angie's list. They were hired to move my daughter from VA. to Houston, Texas. We were not told that they were going to sub contract the move out to another company until the second company showed up to load everything for the move. The estimate and discussions with Max Movers had no bearing on the agreement of American Van Lines. The move cost more than was estimated and they did not care that the two companies have different procedures and requirements We were very unhappy and felt trapped because of the time frame and not knowing until the day of the move there was no time to do anything else. Also someone from one of the companies used my credit card without permission to purchase expensive shoes from Foot Locker and shipped them to someone else. Fortunately Foot Locker had the shipping address and is working on this through the fraud division of my bank.

on the start the movers missed the house. They was late getting to the house. The did not take good care of items when packing. No pictures was wrapped in bubble wrap. upon arriving at the new house many boxes that I packed had been gone through and repacked and I am missing many items. The owner told me that I would be the only one on the truck, when it arrived there was someone else thing on the truck. There was no way of telling whos whos items. So I would not advise anyone using this company.
