The repair was done acceptably. The cost was ridiculous. I was given a quote for $8/foot of new gutter and $200 for labor. When the technician arrived he said no new gutter was needed (nor was it planned). He spent 45 minutes and adjusted the pitch of the gutter which solved the problem. I have spent over 30 days repeatedly contacting Leaf Filter for a refund for the "cost of new gutter", but repeatedly get a customer service run around. Do not use Leaf Filter

This is a note that is a bit of a complaint. I requested an estimate for a gutter system for my house. A representative came to demonstrate your product. She did a fine job of showing the product but I had some very real questions that I needed to be addressed related to my GAF roof warranty. When she saw that I was not able to get an suitable answer for my questions from her, she became visibly irritated and dramatically tore up the contract that she started in front of me. I asked her why she was angry and she expressed disappointment at having to fill out the form without getting a buyer. We tried to call her manager who was able to verbally address my concerns. He told her to write into the contract language that would address the warranty concerns and that the manager would email me with something even clearer. What she wrote in the contract was not even close to what was discussed and so I decided to end the transaction. I told her that I would be happy to reconsider once I got the email from her manager and she was able to include what he suggested into the contract. She was once again clearly annoyed but she left. Later she called and asked if she could follow up later in the week as I needed to speak to my roofing warranty company to confirm that I would not lose my warranty. She said that she would call in the afternoon later that week to follow up. I told her that this would be acceptable and to please encourage her manager to send me the email promised. It is now going on 3 weeks and I have not gotten the email or the follow up. Please know that I was genuinely interested in the product and was inclined to purchase the product but that my GAF roof warranty needed to be protected and that I needed to have assurance that it wouldn't be invalidated by the work your company would do. She did not seem to appreciate this concern and just seemed annoyed that I would even want to check. Her behavior once I started asking questions and it seemed like I wasn't going to be able to close the deal that day was less than professional and bordered on rude. Also, it concerns me that the information that I was promised by email has not been forthcoming and it makes me wonder if it was just an empty ploy to get me to purchase. These sales techniques seem dishonest to someone who is genuinely trying to find the best product for his home. I just thought that you should be made aware. No work was done as a result. JMJ Mario

Badly. They came three times and installed diverters which seemed to make the problem worse. We had waterfalls. Our foundation stayed wet for months and amazingly we seem to have escaped having rotten wood. On the fourth call, the manager was supposed to come to examine the problem. He sent someone else who got to our home before I did. He proceeded to clean the tops of the gutter guards that were supposedly self-cleaning. He also told me that they needed to be cleaned a couple of times a year and charged $95. They may work for some houses but they did not work for ours. I have just had the problem gutters with Leaf Filter guards removed and replaced them with new gutters! So far, the problem has been resolved.

We went through the high pressured sales and felt we landed on a somewhat reasonable price, after many negotiations and changes in price. Scheduled the install, guy came out and obviously didn't know what he was doing. After a few hours, he stated that he was over his head and would need to get someone else to come do the install. He left after poorly installing a couple sections and cutting on our metal roofing and gutters. Really bad and costly experience with no follow up from the company. They called four weeks later asking to reschedule but didn't know when they would be able to get back out here! I contacted the company that installed our roof and gutters to repair the damage done. These guys installed a very similar leaf protection system for much cheaper. It's been a year, it's been working great!

We've had a number of mostly minor problems with the installation of this system, which took two days to finish as a result. All the minor ones were handled very professionally and quick enough, although getting call-backs from the right people usually did not happen without multiple calls to them. In Virginia, apparently, the company is very under-staffed when it comes to Service calls. Still, if we had not had an unusual corner gutter issue on our garage, I would be giving this company a solid B rating. Unfortunately, I now wonder if even a D rating is appropriate. We have a very obvious gutter problem on the corner of our garage where a small corner gutter must handle too much water. The garage is attached to our house, and the 2nd story roof's downspout dumps a lot of extra water into a valley that leads to that corner gutter. It is a very obvious problem, but I still did point it out to the company's salesman, George, as a reason why the expensive LeafFilter system would not work for us. He assured me, however, that the company is very experienced with solving gutter problems and would be able to make it work. In fact, he told me they would "do whatever it takes" to make the system work on our gutter system. Based on strong, multiple assurances about the company's integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction from George, we signed up after about 2 hours of "hard sell" and gave him a deposit. I must say that it has been quite a shock to learn, little by little, that we may have been grossly oversold. While the company has been willing to send two different top installers out to handle this problem over the past weeks, their fixes so far have only made our original problem MUCH worse. What worries me now is they don't seem willing to do more than attach a cheap-looking gutter guard to that corner gutter, since switching to the larger wide gutter on that corner made no improvement at all. These gutter guards are attachments that look like little walls (maybe 3" tall) that stick up along the outside edge of the gutter to prevent water from going over the edge. We used to have them on that corner before LeafFilter was installed, and they worked well enough on an open gutter. The problem now is compounded, however, by how the LeafFilter sits on top of our gutter so that it is no longer open to catch leaves and still handle rain. When huge amounts of rain came down before, most of it stayed in the gutter with the excess "waterfalling" about a foot or so from our house and right behind our landscaping. Now, because of the angle of the roof where it meets the LeafFilter, water is now CATAPULTED off the top of the LeafFilter, landing 4 feet from our home right in the middle of our now-ruined landscaping. Using these gutter guards is usually not recommended by LeafFilter because they form a trap for any sticks and leaves that fall on the roof - here, for many months of the year. In no time at all, a handful of leaves would completely block most of the rain water from entering the LeafFilter on our gutter. As a result, we would OFTEN need go call them to come out to clear leaves out of that part of our gutter. I've been told they have recommended this kind of solution to others who accept it, not realizing the headaches they will have trying to get leaves cleared off their LeafFilter. Maybe, having to handle a lot of these calls is why their Service Dept. is a bit overwhelmed. Not sure, but it makes no sense for them to ever recommend them. The only reason anyone would ever want to spend $3,325 for this system is to eliminate the need to ever call anyone to come out to clear leaves from our gutter! It would completely defeat the purpose of having a LeafFilter system! My question now is, why even mention it as a solution? And, why would they not fully inform their customer of all the Service calls they will need to make over the years? If I had not read some warning to this effect deep within their website, really just saying one should ask why it is not recommended, I probably would have taken them up on this myself. It sounded good and worked for us before, but the LeafFilter that lays across the gutter changes everything. Everything. If it were not for this huge problem, we would LOVE having this system in place. There is great peace of mind in knowing you have a well-designed leaf-guard system in place - if you can afford it - because you should never again have to worry about leaves clogging up your gutters or downspouts. LeafFilter really seems like a GREAT system. It works really well everywhere but on that one garage corner. I just hope the company truly is willing to do whatever it takes to make our system work, everywhere. The problem can be solved. I have consulted with a roofing and gutter expert who is ready to do the work if necessary. Because it is a small job, the cost would be close to $400, which we are not willing to pay. LeafFilter has a man who says he can do what that gutter expert proposed, and I gave him a copy of the proposal along with a drawing. All we want for our money is what we were promised by George, a LeafFilter system that entirely eliminates the problem of leaves interfering with rain flowing through our gutters, and this proposal would give us that. If not, we would like LeafFilter to remove their system from our gutters and return all of our money. We would be happy enough to return to having open gutters again that did not gush water to kill my plantings. I would just return to calling someone to clean leaves from our gutters twice a year, costing $75 each time, or $150 per year. We paid $3,325 for the LeafFilter and would reap such a small savings in upkeep per year, so it would take us 22 years to offset the large, up-front cost of LeafFilter, which would be totally not worth it if we have to call them even once a year for service. It has been only 3 days since the last Service guy was out here, a very professional and empathetic young man. He even offered to come out and fix it on his own time one weekend if the company refused! He is hoping the company will have him take care of it, though, and said it would take a couple of days for someone to get back to me, knowing the problem is urgent to prevent all of my plantings from dying. So, I will update this review in a couple of weeks. By then, it should either be fixed, or the system should be removed - with us being made whole again. This is a real test of this company's integrity because I warned them from the start - and all along the way - that this would likely be a real problem that they would have to fix if they installed their system.

I had an appointment to have gutter guards installed today, 8/10/18 between 8-10am. No one showed up, no one called. After making 4 calls myself to find out what's going on, no one will get back to me. It is now after 2pm. The installation was to be done while I was off work today and home but obviously no one is coming today. Several other reviews state that this company is bad about not returning calls and they are right. I have been told managers have been contacted and will get back to me in 30 minutes, emails have supposedly been sent to managers on my behalf....the company obviously cares nothing about customer service. I have cancelled the installation because I cannot see spending my money with a company with this extremely poor customer service.
