Kiel Plumbing was great. They responded quickly and resolved the problem. Unlike other plumbers, they actually showed up, and they knew what they were doing.

the plumbing under the sink was a leaky mess and the water didn't run properly. They came on time, gave me a quote and did the work on the spot. Boom! Loved it. Completely replumbed under the sink and now everything works as it should. I considered it money well spent.

Keil showed up in the appointed time frame, called to announce their arrival, as expected, and were professional and friendly. Two plumbers arrived to do the work, which was done correctly and quickly. The also replaced the inner workings of the toilet tank, which has actually improved the flushing power. They were done in about 40 minutes.

Not well. The plumber in Oct 2015 presented the bill for payment without checking the system to ensure that the bathtub flow was o.k. I found that there was almost no flow, and then the plumber started dashing about to complete the work. He went from the house exterior and then stepped onto the tub surface several times, each time without trying to protect the tub surface. He left black marks/scratches on my white tub. He knocked a ceramic jar off the shelf above the sink, which I didn't see until after he left; the jar lay broken on the floor. He apparently left loose a connection to a supply line serving the sink, causing a slow leak which I found this month (July), after finding sopping wet towels on the bottom of stack of towels stored in the bath vanity, absorbing water from the leak. The vanity interior has water damage. I called in the issue on July 14th and asked that the company send out a different plumber to correct the leak, without its being treated as new work. I explained to the plumber who arrived, about the slapdash way the original plumber did Phase 2 of the October work and that I believe he left a loose connection. I stayed in the house and was never asked to authorize the new supply lines that the plumber installed, at a highly inflated price. The full time, including presenting the invoice, was not quite a half-hour. I refused to pay the new $180 invoice, on which I wrote that the new work was unauthorized. All I needed was for the plumber to use the special tool that allows him to access the tight location where the nut was left loose by the original plumber when he was clearing the lines of whatever material he had put into them. In less than 10 days, I have received 2 more invoices for $180, with the last one referring to litigation. This is very irregular, totally beyond my experience with reputable plumbers. I am a homeowner of over 35 years' experience, and this is not how a professional proceeds in good faith to provide quality work.

It was refreshing to deal with an honest and very professionsl company.

$100 was the minimum rate for a service call.  I had a badly clogged
toilet (a child flushed the toilet and a hairbrush fell in it while it was flushing). The
plumber finished with the toilet in about fifteen minutes and then
asked if I had other plumbing needs while he was here.  He replaced
the washers on a couple of leaking faucets with washers out of his tool box.

I explained the situation to the plumber.  He was very attentive and went right to work.  He was done in 45 minutes and so far the problem has been solved.

Two plumbers showed up on time to do the work.  One fixed the leaky toilet and began work on removing the old dishwasher.  The other reconfigured the pipes in the wall behind the tub for the new faucet.  They worked together to install the new dishwasher.  They worked efficiently and the results are excellent.  No leak from toilet, faucet, or dishwasher.

Matt and John were great - arrived as agreed, solved a tough problem on an older house with cast iron plumbing.  This was at least my 4th time I've used Keil Plumbing services for various problems and they have done well each time except one.  That time the issue was not taken care of by the first set of technicians but Bryan responded very promptly with a different team and they were excellent, finishing the  job to my satisfaction.  One more note - I don't understand why they have a huge ad on their website announcing an available $10 senior discount, yet twice that I've asked for it prior to making payment the field guys seemed unaware of it . . . but they did honor my request.  

We had a pipe burst during the extreme cold weather in February.   We contacted them around 3:30 p.m. and they were here before 7 p.m. the same day to repair the broken pipe.
The only reason I gave a B on punctuality, is the original time estimate for arrival was 6 or 6:30 p.m. and they seemed to have trouble finding our address in the GPS.   It's a nit only.

These guys at Keil Plumbing rock!. They made the repairs on the same day I called them which was not expected at all. And they substantially undercut the other estimates of the competition I called around for. I'm the owner of the rental property of the service performed and so far no complaints of the work have been noted via the renters. I would highly recommend their services and will use them again should the need arise.

On all of the work we've had Keil do, they've been nothing but great.  They always show up on time, keep us informed every step of the way, and do top notch work.
My one small complaint is that their estimating doesn't always include all elements of the job that it should.  On one of the bath and kitchen remodel projects, there were a lot of change orders for items that I thought should have been part of the original estimate.
That was a minor issue, though, and I will absolutely use Keil again in the future, and would recommend them to anyone.  They are much better than most contractors, particularly in terms of quality and punctuality.

They come on time, are focused on what they are doing and do good work. The toilet handle was easily replaced; the outside hose took a little more time, but they got the job done. The main water shut off valve to the house is located across a large field, much further away than it is with most houses, so it took a couple of trips across the field to complete the job. They tested out the hose and remembered to give me back the decorative spout that came with the old non-functioning water spout.

My old furnace dated from 1993, and I had been told that an internal part of the furnace, the heat exchanger, was rusted when the furnace got its yearly inspection. I was told that I could just replace the heat exchanger but was also considering getting a new furnace, given the age of the old one. I was impressed by the fact that the people from Keil Plumbing and Heating were the only firm to apply a chemical to the inside of the heat exchanger to see if it glowed when placed under light. The glow signified that small cracks were forming, and as the cracks grew, gas would begin to leak. It became obvious that I needed to get a new furnace.
The price offered by Keil Plumbing and Heating was lower than most of the quotes and I liked how they proved that the heat exchanger was going to leak gas.
The new heat pump/gas furnace has been fine and my monthly costs are lower now than they were with the old furnace.
In connection with other repairs, they come when they say they will and they do the job.

It went great. They're very good. They're just very thorough, very professional and very helpful in answering my questions.

Perhaps the most professional interaction I have ever had in dealing with service providers in this line of work. subject matter expertise of the technician was exceptional, and the quality of the work superb.

Really well. They showed up 3 minutes before appointment, did their thing and left. Scott and James were friendly and left the work area clean and neat.

Great experience! I called at 1:30 pm and we got service at 4:30 pm in the midst of one of the coldest Januarys ever. Our technician, Sarge, arrived promptly and was friendly, courteous, and professional. He quickly began examining all the possible trouble areas on the boiler. He also consulted with another technician over the phone and p determined that our thermostat was intermittently sending a signal to the boiler. Therefore, the boiler would only turn on sometimes and once on, would not easily turn off. Sarge installed the new, much improved thermostat and tested it while writing up the ticket. He was thorough yet efficient, mindful that we were paying overtime rates for him to work after 4 pm. We are thrilled to find someone in the Richmond area who is knowledgeable about this type of heating system. We are going to hire Keil (Sarge) to do our yearly boiler maintenance. These folks know what they're doing when it comes to steam boilers...a rare find in RVA!
