I hired Juan and his team to replace a concrete driveway. The end product seemed fine and had a one year warranty. Within the year two cracks presented and I contacted Juan to have these repaired. I have reached out over a dozen times over a three month period. Juan, the owner, responded only after I explained if he did not honor the warranty I would review his company on social media. He then repeatedly lied and said I will be out this week or this day and never showed up. This is unprofessional and possibly illegal as I have the warranty in writing. I would HIGHLY suggest looking for a company that stands by their work and USCG clearly does not.

I highly recommend Juan Padilla and USCG Construction. Juan’s company completed a concrete driveway and retaining wall project for us in the summer of 2020. The driveway is large enough for four cars. Juan took care of obtaining the required VDOT permit and for a small fee he also posted the bond that VDOT requires (and the work passed with no issues). Juan installed a 4-foot paver section beside the driveway (over our gas line). He also installed a U-shaped retaining wall along one side of the driveway and a single retaining wall along the other side. He was flexible and gave us a good price when we decided to increase the length and height of one wall during the project. The work is beautiful and is holding up very well. Because of the pandemic, our original choice of retaining wall material had become unavailable, and Juan worked to locate a replacement product that we like better than our original choice. Juan was easy to work with and prepared a clear and professional contract and gave us a good price. His guys worked hard and were respectful of our property. The work added to our home's appeal and functionality and we're happy we chose USCG and Juan.

Without a flaw. Juan Padilla was responsive to my request for a quote, came to our house the same day and offered suggestions that improved our plan. From his visit to the final driveway was less than two weeks, and the driveway looks terrific.

I highly recommend U.S. Construction Group for your concrete project. Juan and his team were extreamly easy to work with. Juan Padilla was very responsive and contacted me very quickly and came to see the work I needed to have done. The repair/replacement of a driveway, front walk and front steps with a new banister. He made several good suggestions. The price was very reasonable (and I received several estimates from various companies) and the work was done within a week of signing the contract. The crew was easy to work with and they explained all steps of the progress. The completed job added value to my house and looks beautiful. I would rate a 5 on a 1 - 5 scale.

After receiving multiple quotes to replace our home walkway, we chose USCG because of price and flexibility. Many companies can replace walkways. What set USCG apart was that they where willing to sand/paint our iron handrails, and install an Ardex overlay on our steps so they would match. A one stop shop, at a reasonable price.

As with any job on a 40 year old house, once the demo was done, there were issues that arose that required us to rethink the final outcome...Juan Padillo was very helpful, understanding, and worked with us to develop an alternate design, provided a reasonable estimate, and even with the changes required, completed the job within the window he told us it would be done. We are extremely happy with the way things turned out and when we have another project that requires concrete or pavers, we will go to USCG first. I would also like to complement the crew that Juan sent to do our job...they were extremely knowledgeable and when adjustments needed to be made, they were able to change direction without missing a beat! Juan and his crew did a fantastic job! There was a glitch, through NO fault of Juan. Juan went ABOVE and BEYOND to rectify the situation. U.S. Construction did an awesome job on my walkway. My old walkway made the whole house look bad so I wanted to take it out. I did not know what materials would look best. Juan showed me pictures of a paver he thought would look nice, which was exactly what I was looking for. He sculpted it nicely so it flowed from the front around to the side. They first put cement down, and then the sand to hold the pavers. I am happy to know that it won't sink or break apart. I was very happy with the quality of the work and professionalism of Juan and his team. I highly recommend them for any hardscape work needed!

To correct the slope at the NE corner of the back yard, the contractor constructed a retainer wall of treated wood. He was told to protect the wood against contact with water and wet soil to prevent preservation chemicals from leaching out. To effect that, he installed a plastic screen with drainage tubing on one side but not on the other side. The outlet of the tubing was at same level of the yard ground level instead of placing it at the lowest point for proper drainage, thus violating a simple hydraulic engineering principle. Also there was no such tube at the other end of the wall. No rain water ever exited the tubing because of its positioning and, possibly, because it was damaged by the fence posts which were dug in too close to the screen. The retainer wall remains exposed to contact with water and mud, and therefore, will be exposed to rotting. The retainer wall needs to be re-built properly from the ground up respecting sound engineering design principles. The contractor falsely claimed he would construct the fence similar to the one made at the Builder's model home. He hired a subcontractor to do the fence who worked without any supervision by the main contractor. The fence was built partly on the neighbor's property in order to reduce the expense of erecting it on the property line. Our neighbor was upset and we promised to have the situation corrected. Our complaint to the contractor fell on deaf ears. Also the fence posts were supposed to be immersed in cement. This was not done and resulted in the fence gate not properly closing. The contractor tried to correct the gate closing , but shifting of the posts caused the problem to persist. Also the fence was supposed to be at most 1-2 inches above ground level. This was not the case. There are gaps as much as 8-10 inches where animals can crawl into the back yard. The whole fence needs to be reconstructed along with the retainer wall. The contractor did not allow for rain water drainage in the back yard by constructing 2 walkways that prevent drainage. Rain water was backing out against the house. He refused to correct this faulty planning on his part and we had to hire a contractor to construct proper drainage. The cost of the retainer wall including excavation, wood, and its erection was $4,000. The cost of the fence was $3,300, The cost of drainage work (paid extra by us) was $700. The total cost for which the contractor is liable to us is $8,000. When confronted with this request, the contractor offered to re-imburse only $700 provided we drop all other claims of faulty workmanship. We refused his offer. All our claims of faulty workmanship can be proven by allowing any prospective member requiring such services to visit the site and we will take them on a tour of the backyard. This offer is also made to any representative from Angies List.

They did a great job designing and installing the concrete walkway. It is professionally graded to help direct rain water to the lawn/driveway and away from our house and front door. They also took the time to regrade the lawn and landscaping so that no work was required on my part. The walkway looks perfect. They were also patient with waiting more than 45 days for my homeowners association to review and approve the proposal. I highly recommend them.

Fine. Scheduling a small job like this in the summer months ran into the expected (by me) delay in getting scheduled; however that was my bad for not scheduling the work earlier. Once scheduled the work was professionally done, except for one underground water sprinkler head which was mis-located from where it should have been. I called Juan (the project supervisor) and he had a man out 2 days later and I explained where the sprinkler head should be; he courteously and professionally relocated it where it needed to be. The personnel I dealt with are courteous, professional in every way. I would definitely hire US Construction Group again

After obtaining multiple bids from vendors, we selected U.S. Construction Group to rebuild a fire pit that was originally installed incorrectly by a different vendor. We also had them add a step from the existing porch and replace some mortar that had cracked over the years throughout the porch. The stone work is beautiful and the stone installed matches the existing porch perfectly. Juan suggested a steel fire pit insert for our fire pit called a Zentro. It cuts down on the smoke, helps preserve the stone in the fire pit and includes a metal cover. We would not have known about this option if it were not for Juan and have really enjoyed the fire pit and the options it gives should we want to cook on the pit at some point. The work crew was very diligent and cleaned up daily. Juan was very good about communicating progress of the project. The work quality was terrific! We will definitely use U.S. Construction Group again.

Juan who I believe is the owner came to the house and took measurements as well as came up with some ideas of what we could do as well as options to keep the price down. His initial estimate was really low but also for a smaller concrete slab. I told him about the wrong measurement and adjusted price uo accordingly. We were able to negotiate a manageable amount.... I then had an issue with my hoa application and the concrete size had to again be adjusted. Another price was negotiated as well as an adjustment to the design of the knee wall. .. his crew did a great job and were very professional. Job was done in 2 days and they cleaned up really well. They even removed and took away our old basketball hoop that was cemented to the ground. the concrete is still curing but I feel this concrete pad will last forever. The knee wall is beautiful and professionally done. Juan was easy to work with and very responsive! I Will refer him to everyone

Mr. Padilla is a truly dedicated professional. His team did amazing, truly HARD work. They had to get two large machines in our backyard to dig and level the ground. Then then created a two level patio space, giant retaining wall, and a finished walkway that look AMAZING (even includes electrical)! our neighbors are so jealous :-) But seriously, this is a good company and Mr,. Padilla is incredibly reasonable and wants to make sure all his clients are happy with the end product. Would totally hire again!

This company showed NO consideration for my house, yard or property. Work was sloppy and my yard was left littered with trash and debris. Paint job was messy, spotty and incomplete. Parging job was not finished even though Juan Padilla promised they would return. Months later - They have not. Project Manager Juan Padilla was hardly on sight to oversee the job. If he had it would have been obvious his workers were doing a poor job. New concrete was left splashed on front door, window screen, spigots, electrical boxes, etc. I DO NOT recommend them to anyone. Seems his low estimate left him in a bind to rush my job and do a poor incomplete job.

Everything went really well. Juan was quick to reply to emails so we could get HOA approval for the project. If it wasn't quick, we would have had to wait a month for approval. His crew was very courteous and cleaned up everyday so it always looked good. If they had any questions, they would let me know right away. They were good about coming up with solutions to any issues that came up. We love our new patio and get a lot of compliments from neighbors.

There was some confusion on the price. I don't know if it was on my part or his part but with the contract he emailed me there was some confusion on the price. I thought I was getting one size for a price and then it was a different price so I ended up paying more.
