OLD DOMINION APPLIANCE REPAIR

The tech arrived on time as agreed. The tech was very friendly and pleasant. He fixed the issue with the dryer and cleaned the dryer vent for safety. This is my second time using them and I will continue to use this company. I'm very pleased.

I found Old Dominion Appliance Repair through NextDoor and Angie’s List and could not have been more pleased. I called them on a Wednesday morning about an issue I was having w/my older washing machine and Alan was there first thing Thursday morning. He took the time to look over my machine and very politely explained that the issue I was having was most likely operator error and that my machine was in fact working fine and in excellent shape. He confirmed this by running the machine through a complete cycle and no issues were found. I gladly paid the service fee knowing all was well w/my machine and that I had found someone I could trust for any future appliance issues that may arise. Thank you!

He is great. His name is Alan. God, talk about one I am blessed to have, he is definitely one. He's kept my washers and dryers in tip-top shape. They are 15 years old now and my washer is good. They are great machines, but he has helped me fix a couple of things and keep them in tip-top shape all along. He's been real honest about things and he's told me what appliances, if I'm going to get a new refrigerator, what he will work on and what he won't. If I'm going to get new appliances, what can be serviced, what really can't and that kind of thing. And the prices are really reasonable. I bought the key-pad, it's one of the touch, you know you touch them and they kind of wear out, the buttons wear out, so I sent away for the part and he came and installed it. A lot of people won't do that. They want to sell you the part, they want to up-charge you and he said no, if you get the part, I'll come and install it and charge you $99 for the service call. If my washer needed a part, he would roll that $99 into it. He would take that off of what the service call would be. We're on a first-name basis. He's just awesome. It's just him, his wife answers the phone, it's just him and he is busier than corn on a paper hanger, let me tell you. He's even told me things I can do to fix problems. He'll let me watch what he is doing and he'll show me things so that if something like that happens again, I can go in and take care of it myself. That's a good service person. That's why I tend to stick with people like that. I think because they're honest, they get more call-backs. I'm a Christian and I believe I attract Christian people.

Great! All installed and fixed and working perfectly. Great Service, very knowledgeable. I do recommend him.

Alan was great!

Having used Old Dominion Appliance Repair in the past, I knew that if the dishwasher were worth fixing, Alan -- Old Dominion's owner -- would be able to do it right. He did not disappoint. I called on a Tuesday to schedule the appointment and Alan was there that Thursday at the agreed time. He gave me a quote for the repairs which was very reasonable and saved me considerable money over replacing the dishwasher. He repaired the hinge and leveled the dishwasher, and then scheduled a return visit for the following Monday when he would have the remainder of the necessary parts. As promised, Alan came back on Monday and finished the repairs and the dishwasher is now running perfectly with no leaks whatsoever. Despite having to come back to the house to finish the job when the parts arrived, Alan charged us for only one service call for both visits. Alan has performed a number of appliance repairs for us over the years and we have found him to be a friendly and professional expert who does the job right. While nobody likes having to have their appliances repaired, it makes all the difference when the job is being done by someone like Alan who takes pride in his work and cares about his customers' satisfaction. We are able to recommend Alan and Old Dominion Appliance repair without hesitation.

Alan is awesome --- friendly, helpful and down to earth. What was impressive was his ability to deeply understand the technical issues (vs simply ordering new parts without trying to fx it). He knows the brands, models and inner workings of appliances having worked in this industry for quite a few years. We REALLY appreciated his time and honesty ---- thanks Alan, your our appliance needs 911 line!!!

Alan was a true professional.  He was on time, called me with his ETA and did a FANTASTIC job.  He explained everything in detail and was very easy to talk to.  I HIGHLY recommend Alan and will be using him for all future repairs.

Alan was exactly on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it in less than an hour and saved us thousands compared to buying a whole new fridge, which essentlally we have now with the new parts.  Very impressed that he had the correct parts on his truck, and also that he clearly knew exactly what to look for.  He's been in the business for 32 years, the past 21 as owner of this company, and his experience shows.  Highly recommended

Excellent all around

Alan was fantastic and always came through for us on our kitchen appliances (microwave and fridge/freezer) while we were living in the house.  Then once we were relocated far away, he was still able to come help when things were misbehaving on our tenant.  He was great with the washer and the fridge/freezer.  The would email me the invoice and I would pay them either over the phone or by mail.

They had an opening and scheduled me for same day service. I was sure my dryer would be out while they waited for parts but they had seen this problem often enough that they brought the likely parts with them. As soon as he got here the tech took off his shoes to help things stay clean and asked for symptoms. Rather than just start replacing parts he confirmed the problem and then replaced only the parts required. While he had the dryer apart he checked on the stuff, tightened and adjusted things and cleaned out the chassis. Very thorough, very clean, very polite and left no mess.

Price was less than expected and he broke down the cost of the

parts and the service (reasonable)

Definitely use again.

I can't say enough good positive things about Alan and Old Dominion. He has done repair projects for us for many years on a variety of appliances. He is skilled, experienced, organized, professional and highly ethical. He is also a delightful person. He is honest about what brands he knows and works on and also about when a repair is not worth the money. He has also given us very helpful advice about his experience with brand reliability when we have made appliance purchases. That is just one example of how he goes out of his way to be helpful. He always returns calls quickly and he is more than fair about charges. I wish there were an Alan in every type of business. We would not call anyone else.

Originally Contacted the company through email and was pleased to get a response first thing on Monday morning. They were available the next morning for an appointment. They showed up around 10am and were able to repair the oven quickly. A little soldering and it was good as new. Very knowledgable and professional.
