Looking back, I realize how fortunate I am to still work at something I love-and with others who love it, too. We asked three contractors to provide designs and estimates for this, we thought, straight-forward project. One told us they could build it in "kit form", but we would have to find another party to install it. The second (fence) company told us "they installed railings all the time" and would get back to us with a quote. We had to call them to learn "they were having a hard time getting the type we wanted", but would contact us later. They never called back. Main Street performed a site visit and showed us pictures of railings done by a fabricator they used regularly. We selected the exact style we wanted. As soon as it was made, MS brought it to our house and installed it in a couple of hours. It looks like it has always been in place and is used by everyone from delivery people to guests. This was our second project with Main Street and we would use them again in a heartbeat!

Separate masonry and landscape crews of four men each were on site four consecutive days. They were polite, careful, knowledgeable and hard working. They were also engaging and funny especially when addressed in their native language. They cleaned up after themselves each day and left the work site immaculate.

We are so happy with the results from Main Street. They did a beautiful job with the pavers they installed under our deck as well as the plantings they added. They also covered our downspouts from our house with river rock to help with drainage. They cleaned up after themselves each day, never leaving a trace behind them. They provided us with complete details on what materials and plants were being used so we knew exactly what we were paying for and got exactly that.

The work was fantastic. We have had neighbors come check it out. They were here for three days. They are punctual, thorough, and they were down on their knees to push gravel to make sure it was all level. Very detailed, it was impressive. Worked very hard. When something did not work they were very responsive and re did the design and did it. They were on time everyday.

Fantastic! Craig designed the overall and quot;master planand quot; to bring our front/back yard out of the swamp and into livability and we have been working in stages - happy with each piece. This was the largest undertaking to rectify some signifcant drainage issues and hardscape a beautiful back yard and rebuild a deck. Craig's designs fit seamlessly into the yard, working around existing trees and leaving the structure of the yard largely undisturbed. His work with the natural features of the yard leaves you feeling like the new structures have always been a part of your natural landscape. Aside from the technical skill, his team's program management skills are also exceptional. Started on time, finished on time, no overruns. Team came at same time every day, left at same time every day, worked hard the whole time they were there. Team stopped work to answer any questions I had, whenever I had them. Always answered every question to my satisfaction. Craig stopped by work site regularly for follow up. Exceedingly professional, easy to work with, and worth every penny for a beautiful backyard that is going to last for the next 20+ years. Simply superb!

We visited the local cement block supplier, who referred us to Main Street Landscape, Inc. Joan, the landscape architect called and visited the site, and provided an estimate. Though we had a couple of days delay due to inclement weather, the crew did the demo, delivered the retaining wall blocks, and pavers. They laid the gravel foundation to replace failing wood timber retaining walls and steps. Then laid the base blocks. They made special provision for the downspout routing underneath the wall, and installed 10 beautiful steps from lower driveway to upper brick walk. They crew seemed to work tirelessly and were pleasant to deal with. The work was complete and they cleaned up the cement dust and dirt runoff from the driveway and site. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an upscale, quality job, done on time, on budget. I would use them again for any landscape or paver work in the future.

They are very, very good. I just liked their creativity. The job was done right. They laid a lot of brick. It just looks wonderful. One of our neighbors was coming here for a party. He thought it was a different house. In terms of scheduling they had to cut back because of lack of demand. It was hard to schedule a second time. They did a good job of moving the project along as well as cleaning up. They were competitively priced and I think we got more value. We are very happy with them.

We came to know of them through Angie’s List. We are really happy with how collaborative they were. We really didn’t know what to do with our yard, and they helped us out. They were open to working with us to design a landscape for our house which was built in 1922.

We won a charity auction for four hours of landscape work. The work was donated by Main Street Landscape, Inc. The bid amount was $100.00. We were assigned Joan DeGarmo, VP Design, who meet with us at our home within a week of our initial contact. We explained to her that we had been granted by the City and special exception to add on to our house with the condition that we would plan the 50' seaward of our property. We provided her with the civil and environmental engineer plans that detailed the types and sizes of the required vegetation. We explained that we would be doing the planting. We also asked her for estimates for replacing a front and rear retaining walls. A month after our initial meeting, we have two sets of hand drawn plans (we expected something professional like their brochures) that do not conform with the requirements set by the civil and environmental engineer plans. Thus, what we have is useless. Also, we have the wrong estimate for the rear wall. The plans that we furnished her had the old and new retaining wall. She designed and bid on replacing the old retaining wall. In summary, today I sent her and e-mail letting her know that we are done trying to do business with her and Main Street Landscaping, Inc.

THIS IS THE SECOND JOB THAT MAIN STREET HAS DONE FOR US. EACH TIME JASON, THE DESIGNER, HAS QUICKLY GIVEN US A DESIGN THAT FIT OUR NEEDS AND OUR TASTE. THE WORKMANSHIP HAS BEEN EXTREMELY GOOD. THE FIRST JOB WAS A POND WITH A WATERFALL. FOR THE SECOND JOB, THE FREEZING RAIN AND SNOW STOPPED WORK ON THE BACK WALK WAY AND PLANTING OF SOME OF THE PLANTS. WE ARE VERY SATISFIED WITH THE WORK THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETED! WE GOT THE NEW WALK IN JUST BEFORE THE WINTER WEATHER. WITH THE RETURN OF WARMER WEATHER WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK AND THE SPRING PLANTING.
