They did a good job. Marty and Scott repaired my fence. Unfortunately, since the walkway is on an incline, the gate gets stuck when it's opened. All told it took them 4 hours to do the work.

I am very pleased with the work performed by Fairfax Fence.  I heard back from them relatively quickly after my expressing an interest in their company.  I was then given an estimate within a few days and accepted the extremely fair price.  We agreed on the date for the job and it was completed today.  All in all, I felt very confident about the transaction and feel I was treated very well as a customer.  I highly recommend this company for total professionalism.

Fairfax did a great job of working with two homeowners and an HOA for what was essentially one fence.  There were numerous requests from the three parties and Fairfax worked professionally to handle them all get the job done as agreed.  
The fence was the quality expected. The installation was the quality expected as well as all follow up. The crew was punctual, courteous and they cleaned up after themselves to where you could not tell they were there.
I would use them again.

Had a problem with the patio and took them over three months to fix.

Very good job. They arrived when they said. The estimator came to ensure everything we had agreed to in the estimate was understood by the crew of two. The crew worked hard all day and did an excellent job of clean up.

It went well.  It was a hot day and it took them 12 hours.  They were perfectionists.

The service was very good. The quality of the work was very good. They showed up right on time and got the work done quickly. It was a little hard to communicate with the crew but they did a good job overall.

They were great. The overall quality of the product was fantastic. They customized the design for me to help meet my needs with the fence. There could have been a little better communication between the sales guy and the installation team but overall they it was a good experience. We get a lot of compliments on the fence.

I could not be any happier with their service. Aaron returned all of my emails/calls very quickly and when the installers came out to put the fence up, Aaron came out to make sure everything was going smoothly. The guys installing the fence were AMAZING. They took their time and made sure everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend Fairfax Fence to anyone.

I narrowed down fencing companies to two from here on Angie's List to Fairfax Fence (FF) and another competitor who did mostly all the other fences in my community.  I emailed FF on a Sunday and received a call back the following Monday (points for responsiveness!).  As scheduled, the estimator (Tim) came out and quickly measured the perimeter of our yard.  We then sat down to discuss fence styles.  After Tim left, we decided on 3 styles of fencing then informed Mr. Schuppel of our choices.  Mr. Schuppel quickly responded with detailed descriptions of the work to be done and price qutoes for each style fence.  A few times, we changed the style we wanted and Mr. Schuppel was happy to adjust the estimate.
We settled on a style, negotiated the final price and then scheduled a time for install.  When it came time for install day, I waited for hours (scheduled to start between 9-9:30) and no crew had showed up.  I thought I'd give them an hour or two before I called in.  Noon rolled around and still no crew so I called in.  Found out that the crew had mistakenly started ANOTHER job which I found to be very unusual/odd!!  I sat around for hours giving them the benefit of the doubt only to find out they were never coming at all ??!!  Needless to say, I was PO'd.  It's a good thing I called in; otherwise, I would have been sitting around all day waiting for nothing!   If it's any consolation, Mr. Schuppel was apologetic and promised to start the job another day.  I had to postpone the install to another day because I had company coming over that day.
Install day came and the crew (3 hardworking guys) came on time.   The lead guy (I forgot his name) introduced himself and we went over what was to be done. A few hours later, Tim came by to check on the workers.  The lead installer knocked on my door once or twice to let me know of a change in the original plans and wanted my approval..I'm glad he did that.  They started at around 10am and finished up close to 8pm...they took a short break for lunch and went back at it.  The installers worked flawlessly and tirelessly and did a terrific job.  They were respectful, polite and cleaned up the work area as best they could.   Hard to believe these guys do this day-in and day-out.  I tipped them well but I know they deserved more than what I gave them. 
Despite the few minor glitches in the beginning, it was an overall good experience.  I would recommend Fairfax Fence to others.

It took 3 months and it was never finished. I called, yelled, emailed, text, ultimately I had to fire them. Some of the many problems we experienced.
We picked out rectangular pavers, when pavers arrived they were square and we were told rectangular ones were back ordered and if we wanted them we would pay more than what was quoted and will take 6 weeks longer. Typical bait and switch.
 Same issue with the deck. They said material we picked was discontinued and installed something we did not want.
They built an outdoor propane fireplace however ordered indoor parts for it. The "installers" had no idea how to hook it up nor were they qualified in mansonary work or gas plumbing. To "chisel" through the back side of the fireplace they used a large nail and hammer. As a result I have had to hire my own installer to fix their work.  This ultimately meant I paid twice to get what I wanted the first time.  
They were supposed to change out windows where deck was build to shatterproof windows so the deck could pass inspection. After 3 months of promising to do it week after week, they never replaced it, now I have to pay someone else to fix their mistake and still have an unsafe deck.
According to their subcontractor they still haven't paid them for the work they did, so the subcontractor is contacting me asking for money and threatening me with legal action and putting a lien on my home.
To summarize, I would not recommend Fairfax fence to anyone.  Despite my best efforts in calling references, staying on top of the contractors, being involved, paying on time and doing my homework, we still ended up with a unfinished and poorly done product.  I have hundreds of pictures as to their work which I am willing to share with anyone that is interested.  I cannot express my shock to see the current rating on Angies list.  Please do not make the same mistake we did.

Did a wonderful job.  On time and sent me an estimate the next day was thorough.  The fence was beautiful. I can't stress enough of how good they were.

Rock solid performance from this company.  Estimate was prompt, contract spelled out everything, coordination with the County was spot on and they left no footprint, other than a little sawdust.  Job well done.  Would recommend this company for future projects.

LONG story short (sort of): We got several estimates from about four companies on fence prices and finally selected Fairfax Fence based on their price and the fact that they were on "Angie's List." We ordered the fence on 4/4/13. The fence was "promised" to be installed within 10 days to two weeks. The fence was FINALLY installed on 5/20/13. Fairfax Fence supplier (On Guard Fence Systems) shipped the fence and then claimed that the posts were "lost" by UPS in shipping. Fairfax Fence had to store the parts of the fence (that was delivered) on our property to wait for the posts to arrive. After promising to come out to install the fence, there were other "excuses" shy FFX Fence had to delay installation. Once the fence was installed, the fence latches & post caps were missing so there was another delay in getting those installed. What I thought was supposed to be ball caps on the entire fence posts, only ended up being installed on the two gates (another long story). After two months of waiting, waiting & more waiting, the fence is now in place (6/3/13 )but there was a little dispute over how many ball caps I should have gotten on the fence. If you have a choice of fence companies, I suggest you go with a higher priced estimate and (hopefully) get better service. I counted on Angie's List (based on the reviews) when I decided to go with this company. Hopefully this review will help others to make better choices.

They were pretty good. It took a little longer, but that is just the function of my yard. They did a good job on it. They were actually the cheapest guy that I talked to. They came when they were supposed to and built the fence. The fence works fine. With regard to responsiveness, they didn’t get back to me all the time. They got back to me enough. With regard to punctuality, I think that each day they were maybe a little bit late coming, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. I am actually looking at them to do a deck. It's between them and a couple of other people. We would definitely use them again in the future.
