We are happy with them. A lot of my neighbors use them too. I guess the price is pretty standard around here. We have a contract, so that may make a difference.

They would get straight "A"s all the way through. It takes them about a half an hour. Sometimes it's under warranty, and sometimes it's not.

For the last 15-years, PHA took care of my semi-annual HVAC maintenance. First on two Trane systems in Hampton, then on another brand when I moved to Williamsburg in 2007. I was consistently impressed with their service technicians’ knowledge and skill. When my aging heating and air conditioning system was ready for retirement, I gathered estimates on four top brands and weighed price, Consumer Report ratings, and reputations. I opted for a slightly less expensive brand with another company. Then my downstairs unit quit on a hot day almost 3-weeks before the installation date. I called the company and asked if my installation date could be moved up but they did not call me back with an answer. I wondered if this lack of responsiveness was a harbinger of things to come. So I called PHA because my maintenance agreement was still active with them. PHA came out the next day to fix it if possible, or loan me window AC units until a new system could be installed. This level of customer service convinced me to stay with PHA and get the Trane systems instead. PHA’s Senior Installation Technician, David Massengill, and his team spent 3-days doing a very thorough job of installing two furnaces in the attic and two AC units outdoors. They are clearly well trained and pay attention to detail. For example, my old outside AC units sat on a 4’X6’ raised deck that needed to be 18 inches longer for the new Trane units. Instead of adding a mismatched extension, Mr. Massengill removed and completely replaced all of the deck boards so the entire platform looks new. The PHA installation team was very polite and kept the house clean while they worked. It makes me doubt if other companies could possibly do such a careful a job when they say they can install 2-systems in one day. PHA’s responsiveness and desire to keep me as a customer after all those years really impressed me. I am very grateful to have a Trane. The air quality in my house feels different now and much better. I am thankful every day and know I made the right choice.

We first met this company a couple of years ago when we needed a/c repair.  At that time the technician advised us that the discount offered with their yearly maintenance plan would more than offset the cost of the plan, since they would discount the required repair accordingly.  Since the repair cost was reasonable (he gave us several options, advantages/disadvantages of each, and costs involved with each) we decided we had nothing to lose by going with the contract.  I don't generally go for service agreements but this one has been great; they don't just show up and do a quick rote check.  They really do service the system when they come out.  This most recent check, the technician was there for almost two hours and there were no up-charges or recommendations for additional expenditures.  Our system has been running extremely well since we have had the PHA maintenance contract and regular system checks.  Aside from that, these folks are simply very pleasant to deal with.  Once we "no-showed" their technician due to my having forgotten to record the appointment, and they were gracious and kind about it, could not have been nicer, and did not penalize us in any way.  Whenever I call to schedule services they are easy to reach and efficient.  We will definitely use them for any HVAC needs we have from here on in.

To begin with I called them and explained what I needed.  An hour later a guy appeared, examined my present system, and gave me 2 systems to choose from.  I chose one, and he called a week later to make an appointment for installation.
Workers arrived on time, spread tarp to protect the floor, installed the equipment, hauled away the old unit, and cleaned up.  Two guys were here for 7 hours and left everything neat and clean.
After a few days I noticed that the variable speed blower wasn't operating as I expected.  A man came out promptly and adjusted some switches.  The system operates perfectly now.  Sure is better than my 16 year old unit, and it's more efficient too.

It went extremely well. The technicians arrived when I was told they would. They were competent and considerate. After the job was finished they made sure I was familiar with the new thermostat and the air handler.
When my second heat pump needs to be replaced, Peninsula Heating and Air will be doing the work.

My aging geothermal heating and air-conditioning system quit heating on a Saturday morning during a very unusual cold period in February (temps in the teens, snow, ice, etc).  Although I'm on a  Peninsula Heating and Air  (PHA) contract which covers me for emergency services, I waited until Sunday evening to leave a message asking them to schedule me as soon as possible.  (Since I have a good wood stove and it was such a cold period, I figured some people - especially elderly - probably needed heating services worse that weekend than I did).
Anyway, the PHA Office Scheduler called me first thing on Monday, and was able to send a technician the same day.  As always - I've had PH&A servicing my system for about 4 years now - the technician called when he was on his way, arrived right around the scheduled time, provided very professional services, and took the time to explain to me what he did, and how my system was doing overall.  
Many HVAC contractors advertise that they do geothermal heating systems, but I've found that only a few have worked with geothermal systems long enough to know how to MAINTAIN old systems.  PHA is one of those - and their service can't be beat. I highly recommend them.
