They never showed up! After repeated phone calls to confirm the day before and the day of they NEVER answered or called back! Worst company ever!

I have mixed feelings about my experience with Moving by Brian. Positive feelings overall.
Brian is certainly earnest and serious about the moving services he performs. He did an excellent job as far as handling and packing the truck. No complaints regarding the actual physical loading and unloading of items. Can't argue with his price, he was much less then the cost estimates of other local movers.
On the downside. They were supposed to start at 9:30am, but were over an hour late. There were only two people on the moving crew. By Brian's own omission he decided he did not need a third person. Those two hustled and didn't waste time, but it still took them 5+ hours to finish loading the truck. The truck they brought wasn't big enough to quite hold everything, it was so late they had to come back the next day with a pick-up to get the rest. After the drive to Harrisonburg it was after 6pm before they started unloading. Supposedly unloading is faster, but we knew there would be no way they would finish before 11pm or so. When the truck was about 90% unloaded, the other crew member had to leave to work another job, leaving Brian to finish unloading by himself. Which also meant there were a few larger furniture items he couldn't re-arrange by himself.
I'm not sure if a third crew member would have shortened the load/unload time. Either way, Brian should have done a better job estimating the size of the job, and stating with his estimate the unloading would go till late at night. We weren't quite prepared for that, and after a long day things were just to rushed at the end. Stretching the move over a day and half would had been better, even if it cost a little more.
Would I use Moving by Brian again? Yes, with qualifications. Those qualifications being getting complete details from Brian on how he will handle the move. How many movers he'll provide. When will he start. When will he finish. What size truck. Will he have a second truck onsite in case all items don't fit in the main truck.
In our move Brian was trying to save us some money, which we do appreciate, but we feel he missed a few things he could of done to make the move go smoother.

Brian and his team wrapped, packed and loaded our items and furniture as if it was their own. Nothing was broken or damaged upon delivery and setup, as has been our experience with the big national van lines, who picked up men off the street to unload, during our previous interstate moves.
They were polite, enthusiastic, and professional in demeanor and speech-a real pleasure to work with.
Only hitch was with the van itself-door stuck and it had to go to a shop in Tampa. Brian stayed with the truck overnight to make certain it was secure.

Brian and his team are hard workers. They were both professional, courteous, efficient, friendly, personable and very careful with our belongings. I felt like we were being moved by friends!! Not a nick, ding or dent in any of our furniture and nothing broken in any box. They do EXCELLENT work! They treat your belongings as if they were their own.
I would definitely recommend Brian to family, friends and co-workers for their moving needs!

Very prompt quotation after initial contact. Service provider gave me a very reasonable time period which met our person needs. The moving services ocurred at the promised time frame and as expected.

Overall it went about as well as it could have gone.

Truck broke down and didn't have a back up so ended moving a day late. Once they got going they were good at moving things without issues.

Excellent - arrived promptly/ worked quickly and carefully

Brian and his employees moved everything from our house in Charlottesville to our new house in Richmond in record time. Movers we had used previously took almost twice as long and even complained that we had too much stuff. Brian and his guys were nothing like that! They were professional, personal, and pleasant. They were gentle with all of our stuff and placed everything in the exact rooms they were labeled to go in. I HIGHLY recommend them if you are planning a move. They also do out of state moves. I will certainly use their service again when we need to move.

This included packing, moving, and unpacking everything. Overall I would highly recommend him for just about any type of move. He handled our belongings with care, and he packed everything to make sure it would arrive safely. I would highly recommend him!

Brian and his helper were very professional and efficient. They showed up on time and had my storage locker loaded up in less than two hours. Everything was securely packed and braced for safe transport. When they arrived at my new place they quickly started the unload process and asked where I wanted boxes and furniture placed. They also took great care not to damage my furniture or the walls in the apartment while placing where I needed it. Extremely pleased with Brian's high level of service and professionalism.

Brian is a class act. He loves his job and you can see it in the work he does.

He showed up on time. Handled all our belongings as if they were his own. He packed carefully. There was not a scratch on anything. Nothing was damaged in the process.

We drove behind him for a way on the road, and he was very careful. To the point of parking for his lunch break on a a flat spot rather than a slanting spot to make sure the load did not shift in the truck.

I would definately use this guy again for any short or long haul work.

Brian had to deal with an ever-changing schedule, as U-haul had several issues delivering our Upods. Finally, after getting the Upods there, Brian and Jeff arrived and went straight to work. Brian left at 3AM and drove in from Harrisonburg, VA to my house in Fairmont, WV. He is a marine and has a die-hard work ethic. He made sure that things were loaded/unloaded carefully and didn't complain at all with having to climb all of our sets of stairs! Great service, great guy, great company!
