I needed 4 tall loblolly pines removed from my property one of which was dead. I called 7 other tree removal services since tree removal is pretty expensive I wanted to make sure I was getting the best price. Some returned my call and came out for a quote and s few said they were coming out and never did. Most quotes were in the 5500.00 to 6500.00 and 2 others were much higher. I called Call Tree Service(CTS) and spoke with Rose who was a big help. She said Mack would be out within the hour to give me a quote. Mack was on time and gave me a really fair quote. I told him I had one more company coming out on Monday so I would call him if they were higher. Come Monday the other company quoted me 8965.00 which was the highest of all of my quotes . CTS's was more than half that company's so I called Rose again. She said they would be out the next day to do the work and she would email me the quote sheet and insurance information. I appreciate the fact that when Rose noticed the email was not going through she called me several times to see if I got the informatiom. The next day Mack and his crew arrived and got right to work at 8:30 am. His crew was fast and worked well together. They cleaned up the limps and pine cones as they worked. It took a little longer to bring down the trees in the back since they had to make sure not to clip the power and cable lines.They hauled away the trees, limps and debris quickly and were out of there by 2:30pm. Call Tree Service was a pleasure to work with and they were not out to gouge their customer. Highly recommended.

It went fine. Two workers and they cut it down and took it away.

Tree in my backyard that was under the power lines and he hired special people to top the tree and then his regular team took the rest of the tree down. They were professional and courteous and removed the debris.

I would like to say that this company is the absolute best!!! I called they came they bided and got the contract and I am so very pleased with the company. That I have decided to continue services with them.

Trees were remove to satisfaction. This tree company is too expensive. Mr. Call is very professional and a wonderful person.

Called in the morning for an estimate they were out within 2 hours.  Scheduled the crew to work that afternoon. These were very tall pine tree's that had to be topped and carefully brought down. Call Tree Service were super. The were able to cut down all the tree's and clear everything out. The only thing left behind was saw dust. I would highly recommend these guys.

Absolutely the best! Hundreds less than two competitors and did more work! I hired "Mack" and company to remove a dead tree for me and he wound up removing TWO trees still for hundreds less. He pointed out some low hanging limbs he thought should be removed on another tree..."no extra charge" he said. He also educated me about trees and roots...very useful information. They also removed dead limbs and "cleaned up" other trees in my yard. They were there when they said they would be, performed the work we agreed upon and cleaned up my yard like I would have. There is no one else I will ever call in the future...and you shouldn't either. Don't mean to sound like salesman, but your search for a tree removal company ends here!

It went perfectly! Mack and his crew arrived on time, marked our lawn for sprinkler heads, got started and did every step of the operation with great care. Mack is very professional with a desire to provide a-1 service. His crew were professional and respectful at all times. They left all small limbs cut into fireplace lengths for us to split and even stacked them and cut a splitting stump for us. The stump was ground out, the hole filed with topsoil and all debris removed. The only sign that that had been there was the missing tree and new circle of dirt. We highly recommend Call Tree Service for any of your tree or brush removal jobs. This is our second experience with this company. The first job was taking a tree off of the front of our house in Carytown- a very tricky job as the homes are so close together there. They did an expert job on that one, too. And they came the very day the tree fell.

Thursday before Memorial Day weekend a storm passed through and partially lifted  the root system of a very tall oak.  Mack came out on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend to determine if tree could be salvaged, he recommended tree should come down asap before another storm.  Mack & his team were out today to remove the trees and grind the stumps.  They were very efficient, courteous and left the backyard as clean as it was before the tree removal.
If I need tree service in the future I will definetely use Call Tree Service again and I highly recommend them to anyone considering tree service.

Very quick response time and did a great job.  They also cleaned up the debris and dead branches from the tree.  I will definitely use this company again in the future.  Mac and Rose were a pleasure to deal with.  Thanks!

It was great.  They did a good job.  They were on time and very professional. 

I had five large trees in my back yard that I had dropped and cut up. I was planning on removing these myself from my property, but due to a foot injury, I could not complete the work myself. I saw Calls Tree Service working down the street, so I stopped and asked for a business card. I called and spoke with a very polite lady who took my information and said someone would come by in the afternoon and give me an estimate. That afternoon, Mack came by, looked at what needed to be done and quoted me $600 for the job. Mack said he may be able to start the next day but if he could not get to it, he asked if he could get it the following day, which I was fine with. The following day, Mack and two of his employees were here cleaning up the trees. He dropped and cleaned one more tree for me for $350.00. Mack finished the job in a few hours, everything was clean and I was pleased with their service. Calls Tree Service was polite, professional, on time and VERY reasonably priced! I will definitely call on them again.

A short but sweet story. On Saturday, August 27, 2011 a large oak tree fell on our house as a result of the  Hurricane Irene storm. I was fortunate that my daughter's friend was a business acquaintance of Mack Clanton, the owner, and I was on the phone with him within hours of when the tree fell. We did not stay at home the first night and when we got home at 9 a.m. Sunday morning the crew was already there and working. It was an all day project but at the end of the day the offending tree was lying in the back yard. The main crew, probably about 6 of them, worked all day until the crane arrived at about 2 p.m. and by 4 p.m. it was all done. They were more than happy to honor one request I made as to where the tree was placed, the back yard instead of the driveway. Eventually, after a couple of weeks, they returned and removed every last trace of the tree from the property. The cost of removing the tree from the roof was $3500 and removing it from the property was $1000. When I made my initial call to the insurance company the lady said to find someone with a reasonable charge and it turned out that no one even blinked an eye so I guess $4500 was reasonable. I think they would have come back sooner to remove the tree from the property but they were very busy getting trees off of other houses because there was so much storm damage in the Richmond area. It was not a problem to have the tree just lying there for a while. Mack knew the insurance drill and was completely cool with doing the work and waiting a short while for his payment. Our neighborhood is basically an oak forest with enough open spaces to build some houses so if it happens again I know exactly who I'll call.

Mack and his team of 7 guys were wonderful from start to finish. They brought all  their equipment and worked efficiently the entire day. I had to be at work so I just saw the before and after- impressive work for one day! My wife ordered them pizza for lunch since we live a good distance from any restaurants. Other good points:  -Their estimate was significantly lower than another company we checked.  -They not only ground all the stumps of the trees they cut down but some others that had been left behind from work a company did last year.   -We had zero damage to our fence, other plants, etc. They were extremely careful.  -They came 2 days after the estimate to do the work - on a weekend- very quick service for a non-emergency.  -They would not accept any payment until the work was completed.   We found them from another review on Angie'sList. This is our first report on Angie's List and we're happy to recommend this company without reservation. Mack did the estimate and personally supervised the work.

This was, without question, the best experience I have ever had with a conracting company. The owner gave me a quote that was $600 less expensive than the other I had received previously. When I asked him for license and insurance information on Saturday, he willingly obliged without protest, bringing me an envelope on Monday which contained a copy of his license, copies of his insurance for both general liability and worker's comp (he has well over the minimum required amount for the former), and a detailed quote for the work. And, oh yeah, he brought his crew right behind him and they did the work that very day. He didn't ask me to sign the quote, and no payment was due until the work was complete. A team of five efficient guys with some very impressive equipment turned this large project into a mere 6 or 7 hours of work. They took down all seven trees, which were very tall and poorly situated between my yard and my neighbor's yard, extremely close to our houses and driveways, without even coming close to hitting anything other than the yard and street. They avoided a row of crape myrtles my neighbor wanted to salvage. They even managed to protect the row of decorative lights she had lining her driveway. Not a single one of our possessions was in danger for a second. The crew was even nice enough to dig up and put safely to the side some flowers I wanted to keep that had surrrounded one of the pine trees. These guys were super competent and worked so fast I couldn't believe it. Once a tree was down, a couple were immediately grabbing limbs for the chipper, another was sawing the tree into logs, which yet another removed to a truck. Meanwhile, the fifth was prepping the next tree to come down. It went like clockwork, and the crew cleaned up as they went, raking up pinecones and needles. They also took down a huge island of ivy and bramble betwen the trees at no additional charge. After the trees were down, they ground the stumps, filled the holes with topsoil, raked everything flat, and even put down grass seed where appropriate. At the end of the day, they blew my neighbor's driveway clean and raked up everything from my yard and from the street in front of the house. With all that going on, they even remembered to return a shovel that they had borrowed. I thought it had disappeared, but then I saw one of them lean it carefully against my house where I had put it for them to use in the morning. Call Tree Service is the best company I have ever dealt with for a home project. I have three more pine trees on the other side of my yard, and I fully intend to have them come back and make short work of those. I would recommend them to anyone and cannot thank them enough for their competence and professionalism.

They did quality work and cleaned up the area quite nicely. He had given me an initial estimate and when I told him that another company had given me a lower estimate, he decreased the price. Throughout the project, the owner communicated with me. If I left a telephone message, he returned calls in a timely manner. I would definitely place a time deadline in the contract though. During the latter part of my job, he did not show up for several days. After I telephoned him, they came back to finish it without hesitation.
