Virginia Landscapes

I have an annual contract with this provider. They do all of my mulching. They always do landscape design. They always leave me a note as to what they have done. Their communication is excellent.

These guys did a great job.  Pete came out for an estimate and was very patient answering all my questions, looking at the problem and explaining solutions.  Quote was emailed in a timely fashion in less than a week.  Pete was very helpful answering questions via email after the initial quote and making sure we understood what would happen and what we needed to do.  When it came time to schedule the job, they kept me well informed.  Unfortunately due to an abudance of rain the job had to be pushed back for almost two weeks, but Glenn, the schedule manager was great.  He kept me well informed of delays via email and made sure I knew when the guys were coming.  The labor crew was very professional and on time, did a great job of minimizing any damage from their equipment as they moved the two dump trucks full of dirt from the front of the house to the back.  They even let my toddler son and daughter sit in the front loader they brought after the kids showed an interest in the equipment.  They also swept up and cleaned up any loose dirt in the street when they were finished for the day.  Glenn came out a few days later to look at the work and answer any questions we had and told us he was available by email should we have any further questions about the work or maintenance of our new soil and grass seed.  Overall a very helpful company, timely, would use them again for future yard and landscaping projects.

They were absolutely amazing. I asked about the negative review they did have and were very honest about what happened. I happen to be from Pittsburgh originally and come to find out they were also Steelers fans, so I appreciated that as well. I can't say enough about how wonderful they are.

I got two quotes; this company was lower by $1800. Note that the company also works under the name Morris Lawn Maintenance. One of the two principals (G. Morris) supervised the work.
A team of two to three people did  the work, which took two days. The first day involved marking out the patio, excavating the area, installing the base, and hauling away the excavated material. The excavation was done partly by shovel and partly by backhoe. On the second day, the blocks and the timber edging were installed first, then the drain box and pipe. Then the area was cleared of debris.
The patio was in a fenced area so part of the fence was taken down so a backhoe could be used. This was not necessary, but did reduce the price a little, as otherwise they would have done it with shovels. I was going to replace that part of the fence so its condition after the work was not important, and I can repair the grass areas that were damaged.

The result was fine: the patio blocks are carefully installed, the (necessary) patio slope is not very evident and it drains well to the drain box with no puddling. The timber edging is nicely level with the ground.
I would  use this contractor again. They were communicative throughout the work and did a very careful job, using professional surveying equipment for a small job, and following my requirements in every detail. I am pleased by the result.

I read their reviews on Angie’s list and decided to get a quote from them. They were pretty much like the other companies and the deciding fact was price. I will consider them for another quote in the future.

I hired Virginia Landscapes to do the job. They arrived on time and were very professional. Pete, one of the salesmen, designed a walkway that would be aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. After the walkway was installed in a short amount of time, we had a heavy rain the next night. The installer came back the next day and adjusted some of the bricks and did some other work to improve the level of the walkway so that there wouldn't be a puddle after a heavy rain. I have gotten a lot of compliments on the walkway and am very pleased with the way it turned out. I would definitely recommend Virginia Landscapes to my friends and family.

Easy to contact these guys! Prompt consulting appointment to measure yard dimensions, and emailed me the estimate that afternoon. They were out in one week to do the treatment, and like MAGIC, it rained that night on the freshly seeded lawn (now I'm not sure I can attribute this to Va Landscapes, but I think I'll give them credit for excellent timing anyway!) Their guys were prompt to arrive at the appointment time, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. Will definitely do more business with them!

Extremely well. The service was a few dollars cheaper than another company and they did more than just spend 10 minutes spraying the yard. They spent time looking at the progress and contacted us by telephone to give us updates. The lawn was much stronger and greener as a result of the service.

Very well. The workers were very careful with the landscaping and left the site very clean. It looks great.

They did an excellent job on the fish pond. I was very impressed with how it turned out. It's stocked with plenty of fish. They didn t tear up the surrounding yard at all. The service guy was very nice. I compared prices with several companies and he cost half of what everyone else wanted, and he still did very high quality work.
