Auto Body Work

Straight to the point...  I had my van towed to Pomoco on March 20th--- the vehicle is still not complete...  I have had to return the vehicle twice...  The return of the vehicle was based on an outside consultant I had hired to determine the depreciation of the vehicle based on it having been in an accident.  The independent consultant was recommended by management within the POMOCO family after I found the trade in value had been diminished simply by being in an accident.
Because I had always had extremely professional and fair treatment from POMOCO nissan-- I would never have anticipated this outcome with its' sister shop POMOCO Auto Body repair on Mercury.  When I brought the vehicle back the first time-- I treated the questions about the repair of the frame and the overall body work as a possible oversight.  Instead of addressing the list of issues which were presented to both the body shop and management-- I was told that the insurance company writes the check;therefore,  is the only party to who they have any responsibility.
To add insult to injury-- they had the insurance claims representative review the vehicle with no knowledge of the issues in question.  To add to this-- once my insurance company did receive knowledge of a list, the insurance side advised me that the manager at the shop attempted to discredit my expert by saying my expert had advised the shop manager that he "eye balled" the measurements.  I don't know for certain the conversations;however, it would not surprise me as I have been told several things by the manager that were inconsistent with my case.  I would never have trusted the safety of my vehicle to any individual who would actively avoid discussing repairs of the vehicle instead of answering straight forward questions.  I hired them-- my insurance company just paid.
So- to date when I do pick up my vehicle I will again have to take it to my expert who takes full measurements on a lift with real gauges and uses over 50 years experience to determine whether anything was done to fix the items that were on the original list.  Being a person who researches everything before making a business decision-- I made the mistake of allowing my faith in POMOCO to cloud my judgment when taking my car for repair.

Update as of Jan- 16 2013   I picked up van on December 11th-- when I arrived at the shop that my expert would be reviewing the work done by POMOCO-- I found that there was 6 inches of water in the back of the van in the back seat well where the seat normally folds down...  In addition after being placed on a frame machine and measured-- the frame in the unibody turned out to be off by 7 to 22 mm in different places.  To gain prospective-- industry standard allows for up to 3 mm off...  This is because the crunch points that allow the vehicle to protect you in the event of the accident are compromised when the frame is not in correct alignment.   In addition to this finding-- the items that were presented to POMOCO in writing were ignored while they had promised to fix these repairs that they had paid for...  In addition, I was advised by the management that Statefarm had approved their work;however, reviewing with the claims examiner I was advised that no such approval was given.

So at this point my van has 6 inches of water-- the doors won't open, after dropping it off it wouldn't start.  My husband and I ment with management of POMOCO because the cost to repair the van would exceed its worth due to their work-- not the accident.  We were ment with a profound lack of acknowledgemnt to any of the issues involved and were advised our case would be reviewed.  Honestly, given the fact they have had our vehicle for 9 months they should know everything involved in this case;however, even dismissing this part of the discussion, I couldn't begin to understand how any company could take so little care in their workmanship and their customers.
