We were first introduced to Mr. Stevens when we were planning on moving to South Boston, VA. Mr. Stevens tried to sell us a broken down trailer promoted as brand new, and land at top price. He then did all he could to keep my husband and myself from actually seeing this trailer before buying by refusing to disclose just where this trailer was located. He then defrauded us out of our down payment through dishonest and unethical tactics. He also took advantage of my blindness when he had me to sign a contract that was not as he described therein. He took advantage of the fact that my husband and I didn't have any experience in working with contractors or buying real estate. When we finally located the trailer he was trying to sell us, it was in another state, and full of broken furnishings which the dealer refused to replace, even though he was selling it as a new trailer. We confronted Mr. Stevens with what we discovered and backed out of the deal; however, Mr. Stevens, who had already defrauded us out of our down payment, refused to return the money. We since learned that he has defrauded others in this area of Virginia. He has yet to return all of the down payment to us. He allegedly took our money and immediately deposited it into his personal bank account, and allegedly used it to pay off one of his other debts. It was never used for the trailer, land, or construction we were buying. Do NOT deal with this man! He is totally dishonest!
