My experiences could not have been more congenial, more professional nor more transforming! Our 1987 tract home now has the casual elegance we have always wanted, but could never have so seamlessly achieved on our own. Most importantly, in a choice between her first recommendation and our personal preferences, our preferences were always accommodated. For any material selections, we were always given carefully culled options with a wonderful range of looks and pricing. The floor and backsplash tile patterns she designed - on the diagonal with accent dots on the square and with a half-tile border on the square for the backsplash are gorgeous. The handsome draperies she designed for the kitchen are twin slightly arching valances for the double kitchen window and sliding door with pull-close drapes for optional door privacy. They make me happy every time I walk into the kitchen. The relatively simple addition of the basketweave metal knobs totally upgraded the look of my aging Merillat cabinets from builder grade boring to rustically sophisticated. The wide-plank flooring replacing the carpeting in the library, living room and dining room and the fake parquet wood tiles in the foyer together with the plantation shutters lending architectural grace to the downstairs front windows and the soft palette of Renaissance hues (a different but complementary one in each room) have given us the comfortable sophistication we craved but didn't have a clue how to make happen. I will be calling Pattie soon to help me transform the upstairs. I can't wait. I couldn't recommend Pattie's work more highly!!!!!!!!!
Description of Work: Final pricing includes 5 different jobs, performed between 06 and 08. The 1st and largest, involved planning a substantial kitchen face lift. After a thorough consultation, Pattie presented selections for materials (ceramic tile flooring, granite countertops, fabrics) and designs (flooring & back splash installations and custom window treatments). For the floor tile and granite, she made appointments where we were able to make our selections without pressure and line up well-regarded installers. She placed these orders. She then researched, recommended & ordered a stunning, rounded corner double-bowl, double-height stainless sink. She helped me choose iron drapery rods, travertine backsplash tile and basketweave cabinet knobs which I was able to purchase myself. To accent the diagonally installed backsplash, she suggested 1" raised bronze medallion accents on the square. Just the custom touch to make it subtly unique. Additionally, Pattie recommended paint and trim color for the entire downstairs, suggested removal of the posts visually obstructing but not supporting the pass-through to the family room, and removing the florescent lights with plastic cover panels in order to raise the ceiling and install inset ceiling lighting. These I was able to contract out. Three subsequent jobs involved choosing upholstery fabric. After consultation, she presented her findings from the Design Center. One was to reupholster a wing chair. Another job involved fabrics to reupholster a recliner and an antique side chair. The third, was the selection of a companion chair for the living room-a French Country arm chair with a colorful and sophisticated coordinating fabric. The final job involved drawings and specifications for a niche storage bench with wainscotting above for the library. Sconces and a lovely French Country writing desk were recommended as finishing touches for this room. Finally, Pattie suggested replacing downstairs carpeting with wood flooring, outdated window coverings with plantation shutters, the builder dining room chandelier with one of wrought iron, and a glass/metal coffee table and new area rug for the living room. These I was also able to contract on my own. The results
