Structural Engineering
Mr. Gavin evaluated my house on 5/11/06. He recommended I hire a soil engineer. Engineers hired for evaluations are responsible to: 1. Evaluate the client s problem and, 2. Recommend the best method of repair and the best contractor to execute it. At the least, it is their responsibility to get the client confidently to the next step in the process. A good one will discuss things with the repair contractor for you. In May 2006, the soil engineer Mr. Gavin recommended would not return my phone calls. So I left him several phone messages asking him to suggest another. No reply. Recently, in September 2008, I ve had the same experience with him. Conclusion: Payment is due when he comes to your house and once you ve paid him, you re on your own.
