Never got a return call. Finally after two weeks they came out. They had the wrong part Nat gas v. LP. It took another week to get them back with the correct part. Then they determined it was the main valve and had to order it. Three weeks later they came and replaced the valve. After using the stove for a couple of weeks, black soot was coming out around the place where the chimney went through the wall and at the floor - meaning it was venting into the wall. I texted Chuck and Maria with pictures of the black soot. I got a reply “Who is this” I gave my name and never heard another word. I replaced the Stove with a ventless stove and had another plumber install it. We are lucky that CO did not fill the house and kill all of us. Horrible service.

The father-son team (which I understand is also Aspen Green Gasworks) installed a remote facilitation box inside the firebox, so that you still need to place your hand inside the fireplace to turn it both on and off. They did not install any handheld remote or switch. The unit they left is a no-name brand with no information on it, so I can't even try to purchase any handheld unit that might work with it. Although they received their $195, I'll be calling another company to actually do the work they should have completed.
I'm unclear as to how Bison consistently has poor ratings, but also appears to go by Aspen Green Gasworks which has some better ratings. The contact (Maria) also appears to be the same for both. Maybe there's an "A" team and a "B" team?

Bizarre experience. Same owners as Aspen Green Gasworks. Fireplace install was busted. Pieces missing upon initial install, components didn't work properly, site was left a mess. Took several people and several trips to get right. Careless and sloppy install overall. Install price was outrageous for services rendered. Generator installation was an attempt to make up for crummy fireplace install. It wasn't to code. Failed inspection twice. Cost us twice as much to fix. Acted like they were surprised yet never did anything to rectify. Still sent us a bill. Will never use them again. Do NOT recommend.

Our 12 year old set of gas logs was not lighting very quickly and had uneven flames. Chuck, who owns Bison and Aspen Green Gasworks, called about 30 minutes before arriving. Once here, he quickly diagnosed the problem and corrected it, refreshing the sand base so that the flames turned on more quickly and burned more evenly, as well as adjusting the pilot light. He explained everything he was doing. We will definitely use Bison again and will choose Aspen if we decide on a future replacement system.

Washington Gas showed up at my front door and said a routine check of my meter indicated there was a leak on my side of the meter. They shut off the gas and told me to call a certified gas plumber. Chuck had worked for us previously hooking up a pool heater and I called him around 11am. He was slammed with work, but was still able to squeeze me in, arrived at 4:00pm and had the line repaired and service restored by 4:40pm. Chuck was professional, courteous, pleasant and on time. He did a great job and I am very appreciative of his saving me a cold night without heat! He even relit the pilot for my gas fireplace. I would recommend him again without reservation. Thanks Chuck.

Bison was the contractor of choice for the appliance dealer we bought our new stove from. We had some initial confusion setting up an appointment but that appeared to be because the dealer hadn't sent Bison the paperwork for the job as quickly as they had said they would. Once we got past that, the firm's owner called to discuss the installation, asked a number of questions about the set up (distance from gas meter, closest line to the stove, whether basement ceiling under the kitchen was finished, approximate length of line to be installed, etc.) and was able to make a non-binding estimate.
Bison's technician arrived on time and was very responsive in answering my questions. The distance involved was about 25 feet and did involve a finished ceiling. The job took about three hours, as I recall; my configuration permitted him to run the new line with only a small (4x6") hole in the drywall ceiling, which he re-set into place, spackle-ready, after the line was in.
The estimate given over the phone proved to be accurate.

Extremely well. I called and left a message. Within about 30 minutes, Chuck Bison, the owner, called me back. He was courteous, friendly, and professional. He said it could cost between $300 and $550 to install the gas line. He encouraged me to email his office to ask the office manager to schedule a time. Just after I did that, he called again to say that his associate Christian had just finished a job near my house and could come by in 20 minutes to perform the job. Christian arrived promptly. He, like Chuck, was courteous, friendly, and professional. I was very happy with everything, and used the grill that night. The price ended up being $425, which I thought was fair given that Christian had to cut a hole in the deck and snake the line under the deck, which took some additional time.

In November 2008 Chuck installed a new unvented gas burner in our fireplace. It worked fine until December 2009 when the pilot went out and would not reignite. I called Maria in the office and she was extremely patient and helpful walking me through getting it re-lit. It worked for a few more days and then quit again. Since then I have not been able to re-light it. This was about two weeks ago. In the meantime I have tried REPEATEDLY to contact Bison (Chuck or Maria) to get them to come and fix the problem. I have left about 10 messages on the three phone numbers I have for them (his cell, her cell, main office). Not a single call has been returned since I started asking to have them come out. Their outgoing voicemail gives no indication of any hinderance such as their being on vacation or ill. My initial experience with Bison was 100% positive but this latest episode has soured me on this firm. I used the list to find another repair person who is coming tomorrow.

They did a fine job. I was there when they were doing the work and I thought they did a good job.
