Mathew and his associate came exactly on schedule and installed the microwave cleanly, neatly and efficiently. They did an excellent job and solved a couple of problems due to the nature of the job. I was well pleased with the work and the attitude of the individuals.

The icemaker on our refrigerator was leaking and Briggs Appliance was sent out to diagnose and fix the problem. After the initial visit they said a part needed to be ordered and our warranty company needed to approve the fix. While waiting for a call from Briggs to schedule the fix (almost 2 weeks), we noticed that our wood floor was becoming discolored. I moved the refrigerator and found that the tech had left the water to the fridge on and there was a large puddle as a result of continued leakage. When I confronted the tech, he first accused me of turning the water back on myself, and then said that they never touched the water supply and that he was told that I had shut it off. He then refused to fix the fridge and left. The company now refuses to call me back, even though I've verified with the home warranty company that Briggs is responsible for the damage. I would never use this company again, and have already stopped several neighbors and friends from using them.

"The Dohertys originally called their home warranty because they discovered their refrigerator was leaking water on the floor and damaging it. We were contracted by their home warranty to do the repair and found that the dual inlet valve on the refrigerator was leaking water at the connection to the hose that supplies water to the dispenser on the door. The only time this was leaking was when the valve was activated by someone getting water at the dispenser and it had obviously been leaking for a long time behind the refrigerator BEFORE the Dohertys discovered it. We noticed that the flooring was ALREADY badly damaged and soaked. There were no remediation attempts in place such as fans or dehumidifiers but instead the refrigerator was sitting on warped wet flooring with water trapped under it continuing to damage the subfloor. Unfortunately, the inlet valve was not one of the several different common valves we stock on our truck. We informed the Dohertys that the part was backordered taking 7-10 days to receive and additionally instructed them to NOT USE THE WATER DISPENSER as that was the source of the leak until we returned with the part. When we returned with the part, the Dohertys attempted to blame us for the damage because they had found a puddle under the refrigerator and the water still on. Additional damage would have been miniscule, if any, considering the LONG TERM LEAK AND DAMAGE (note the rot and mold growth in the photo posted by the Dohertys that had yet to be remedied). The water being on or off was irrelevant since the Dohertys were specifically instructed to NOT USE THE WATER DISPENSER. The Dohertys attempt to place blame on our company for flooring damage that had been damaged prior to when we were originally contacted is simply illogical. We have verified with their home warranty company that we are not responsible for the damage since false information by the Dohertys was given to them. We have only provided a diagnosis and information regarding this claim, but because of these false accusations presented against our company, we are refusing the Dohertys any additional service."

Response from Briggs Appliance
"The repair made in the freezer did not require turning off or adjustments to the controls in the fresh food compartment. When we received the call from the customer stating that their refrigerator was off, we did not recall having turned it off or having a reason to do so. If we did, we certainly apologize as we stated during the phone conversation about it. We offered compensation for any food loss during the conversation, but that was declined. The son was present during the repair attempting to fiddle with our tools and the refrigerator. We politely informed him that his assistance was not needed."
